so keep your views on All Blacks crying to yourself. its an issue for us guys to argue over.
One night I went to GPK restaurant on Dominion Road, blissfully ignorant of the big game that had finished at Eden Park just a few blocks away.
Soon the restaurant was filled with people having a post-match meal, and I was surprised at how many tables of women there were, obviously having a "girls night out" at the rugby.
Take all the women out of an Eden Park crowd and you'd end up with a stadium full of men singing "Why does love do this to me".
There are women out there who give a damn about rugby, the All Blacks, and the men who play the game.

I would have the same opinion about most of these "cultural events"
Scare quotes around cultural events. Uh-oh. This doesn't look promising.
i fail to see why local or central government has to pay for people's hobbies unless it has an economic return for the country as a whole. The social return is enhanced by people paying for it themselves.
Sometimes, you know, it's just nice to dance in the streets without having to worry about economic or social return.

The Auckland City candidate information booklet caused me to gasp in horror more than a few times.
My favourite was the DHB candidate who said she had no conflicts of interest with "(insert name) District Health Board".
Really, if someone can't be counted on to read the statement they're putting their name to, they're not really looking like a good person for the job.
But yeah, numbnuts ahoy. I posted my voting papers on Sunday, but I'm so disappointed by almost everyone, I want them back to change my mayoral vote.

A spontaneous haka also broke out from among fans and was warmly appreciated by the 17 players
You know things are gonna be all right when there's a spontaneous haka.

I feel about the ABs as though I were in an Onion article. Area man indifferent to fate of area sports team. They are Area sports team.
The Onion will sell you a T-shirt with "The sports team from my area is superior to the sports team from your area" printed on it.

I saw one of those mobile billboards hooning down Mt Eden Road on Monday. It said "CITY VISION = NO VISION" and the "fun police" claim. I laughed outloud at its silliness.
Actually, the Hero Parade was always quite fun. If I vote for C&R, will they help bring it back?

So the Astrodome was filled with 70,000 people, waiting there after midnight to welcome home their crappy, loser team.
It looks like the Fijian team will be given a heroes welcome and a half when they return home - the Fijian government has formed a celebrations committee.
It would be nice if we could celebrate the All Blacks for making the quarter-finals and playing their best, instead of moping and grrrring and demanding a formal inquiry into the loss.

Here's an amazing clip from the scene of the giant rugby ball in Paris
Hey, cool - Madeleine Sami makes an appearance in it and offers some words of wisdom.

You know, all this discussion on PA System has got me interested in rugby, and previously I was never interested in rugby.
It got to the point where I got home today and I realised that I had all these thoughts and ideas about the RWC and the All Blacks' defeat, so I sat down and wrote something about it.
Conclusion: the All Blacks are the best rugby team in the world.
My next step is to get around to actually watching a whole rugby game.

It is this kind of thing that gets my goat - "a national disaster" - talk about putting things in the right perspective.
Perhaps Muzza needs to pay a visit to the Christchurch Library's kid's education site on New Zealand disasters. He might learn that national disasters tend to involve death.
