  • Hard News: The Peter Principle,

Back home now, exhausted, relieved it's over.

Hilary, yes: my GP finally diagnosed my recurring lower back pain as kidney stones a week before, but told me they'd dissolve if I just drank plenty of Ural. Turns out, that was quite poor advice.

Anyway, I'm going to sit down and watch some documentaries from the internet while I have things brought to me.

  • Hard News: The Peter Principle,

That's a great idea Sofie. And I'm not ignoring your email. It's just that I find myself in hospital recovering from the emergency removal of a bloody big kidney stone. Ironically, I think I'm directly underneath Chris.

Should be home today, but Praise the Lord for iv morphine. I needed that on Friday night!

  • Hard News: The Peter Principle,

Great Historical Society Russell, I'm with you on the Voom. What genius! Glad you mentioned Johnny (sp?) Pain's b logo. Not enough people remember that.

The thing is, I think I once saw a knock-off of the b logo on a t-shirt in Poland, of all places. I've always wished I went up and asked about it.

Perhaps Kevin Roberts would call it a Lovemark even.....

Could we not go to that place?

  • Hard News: The Peter Principle,

You don't happen to have two free tickets to the Ghostface Killah show tomorrow night, do you Russell? :)

Sorry. I think we might not be the core audience for the promoters of that show ...

But here he is on yesterday's bFM Drive:

BTW, love the idea of getting some nice pictures on the walls at Rehab Plus. Give me the weekend to formulate a plan.

  • Hard News: The Peter Principle,

As I type, there's one Take Me Back ticket left, and that's it.

The way to motivate PA readers to act with the utmost dispatch is to offer them free shit.

  • Island Life: I am curious. Yellow?,

I'm actually relying on cost to hold back any dreams of edifice-building on the wharf. The cheapest option -- open space -- is, IMO, the one we need. Call me an optimist.

NZ On Screen has a 10 min excerpt from Miles and Shelly Go Flatting.

I still see Shelly around Pt Chev too. She keeps her carers on their toes ...

David, thank you for letting me publish this, and thank you on behalf of the people it's going to help.

I went to see my friend Chris yesterday, and I told him about you, and how you came down to the Media7 recording three weeks ago. How you'd got past the fear of falling over in public. How you indeed, did not fall over. And how you enjoyed a couple of beers among friends. I think he particularly liked that last part.
