Although if one were to make such a distinction on today's game, then surely the best player in the world is Iniesta ...
Iniesta wouldn't be far behind, actually, but it was sort of a final between Ronaldo and Messi based on the rest of the season. I think to an extent it's fair enough.
Although not the best in the world I thought Puyol had a big influence on the game this morning too.

From what I've heard on Good Morning this morning it seems like Standard and Poors have had played a large part in the makeup of this weeks budget. They even get a look at the final draft before anyone else. Do they own the country now?

Just watched Sunday. Pretty one sided going for the sympathy vote for Mason. To me he came across as the sort of parent we have to deal with at school who sees nothing wrong with their children behaving in the same manner in the playground-swearing and hitting when things don't quite go your way. Cameron Bennett also calling section 59 the "anti smacking bill" pissed me off. Can't these media types get it right?

I wrote an email to Progressive enterprises about 6 months ago complaining that I couldn't buy free-range chicken in their nice new Countdown supermarket here in Napier. This was just after the Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall program about his plight to turn an English town into the first free range chicken only town. I pointed out that while the tiny amount of Free range chicken stocked by English supermarkets frequently drove him to tears, they still stocked more than my local Countdown (none to be precise). I got a reply back within the day stating that all of their supermarkets stocked Rangatikei free range products and that they'd send out a reminder to all of their managers asking them to make sure stocks were replentished. Two days later there was a shelf of the products at the Countdown (legs, thighs, breasts etc) and a week after that they were all stickered with "NEW PRODUCT". Still, they've kept stocks up ever since. Maybe the same could happen with Pork products?
Damn. I'll have to start shopping at Countdown instead of Pak n Slave. Mind you Andrew I think you can get free range chicken at Chantel's in Hastings St and free range pork at the Farmer's Market on Sunday.

Key on 3 News just confirmed they had access to rail corridors through Ontrack to build the cycleways in - so no possibility now that we could actually develop a good rail network for the trainspotter tourists (or even locals)
Yep there goes the East Coast line from Palmerston to Gisborne. More trucks on the road than ever.

Cause a bit of collateral damage but they're all dope-smoking gang trash in those bush towns anyway.
Err, not everybody. And this is happening in the better part of town.

Grant-you know nothing of the outlay of the street and area where this is going on. The tv cameras can not see it from their vantage points. It's a house on a hill side with pretty good views of the street and surroundings. Any movement towards the dead policeman would have left the the police completely exposed although thankfully the body has been retrieved. Must have been the volley of shots I heard about an hour ago which is not a very comfortable noise to hear. I'm not in the lockdown zone but close enough to hear and there have been reports of bullets hitting a house outside the zone near Napier Intermediate. This has affected a lot of people here and funnily the people most affected are quite understanding about the need to take things carefully. Rumours are flying around Napier though and depending on who you talk to around town he's an ok guy or a dangerous man. The truth's probably somewhere in the middle.

I have my own version of this Slightly Awkward Encounter that involves one of the few independently owned music stores left in Hawkes Bay. Used to live close and he knows what I like and would ensure I could get it. Even forgave him his Jason Mraz/Train fixation! Have moved into Napier, store is in Taradale, and don't get there as often and do find myself shopping at the CD Store, which it must be said has 2 knowledgable staff and a reasonable range of stuff. Also end up at the red shed sometimes for some of their bargains. Anyhow it's not that he comes across me in these other stores it's just I feel I'm betraying him in some way especially as he is struggling a little although he has no family to support. Unfortunately he also seems to be at the bottom of the food chain when it comes to the record companies/suppliers and doesn't get the things I want as quickly as other places if at all. It's all a bit of a conundrum really.

"And while you're at it pop Grand Prix's gig into your diary for next Friday (9th)."
Ok, that'd be Saturday 9th. Duh
And Andrew I believe you're playing support for them as well! A good week for the resurgent Cabana with The Phoenix Foundation, Don McGlashan and Grand Prix all in the space of 7 days. In fact ton ight's their 1st birthday gig with a certain Ian (now a Napier resident)Morris performing with his band.

Oops fucked that up. Not sure about this embedding thing. Meant to be Neil in his vocoder stage.
