  • Cracker: Of Tweets and Twats,

I am proud of my stare to this minute

It is pretty awesome. And I think you're right about words/phrases being of a place and a time. I can't see that Eskimo pies or lollies are any different to the vast array of Maori kitsch that is now pretty collectable - teatowels, ashtrays etc from the 50's and 60's. That was then, this is now. Having said that, what are we to make of this?

  • Hard News: It would be polite to ask,

And I would support moves to allow family members to totally block parole of people convicted of these crimes.

    God yes.

  • Up Front: Also, The Rain Isn't Gone,

urkle....ancient memory stirred of IUD insertion. Kicked the doctor in the guts for his trouble. Hey, he shoulda warned me how much it was going to to hurt. Note from mother: keep your feet to yourself, you know what happens to stroppy wimmin.

Oh lawks. I remember the bloody things well, Kerry. And for a woman who's never given birth it was a rude shock indeed.

  • Random Play: Hi-ho hi-ho it's off to…,

Speaking of vile people, I was reading a story at the Herald Online about Ryanair thinking about charging a fat tax. I made the mistake of looking at "Your Views". And it was a mistake.

Shudder. I can feel the waves of Haterade from here.

    It was horrid <sob>

  • Up Front: Also, The Rain Isn't Gone,

without having to get all Jamie-Lee-Curtis-in- Perfect contorted.

They shouldn't be shaking their heads around like that. We did too much of that in the 80's. I'm convinced that's why I have horrid vertigo from time to time. You never read about shaken head syndrome, do you?

  • Hard News: It would be polite to ask,

    Antiques Roadshow

Watched an old one last night on the Living Channel and it was particularly awesome. Does this make me old?

Why, yes it would, Mr Brown. But then if you factor in your very eclectic music tastes, and the fact that you sometmes attend very loud gigs, I guess that would take off a few years.

I say you're not old until you start using words like 'nowadays'. Possibly in connection with TV1's Sunday night programming.

That would be me over the hill, then.

  • Cracker: Of Tweets and Twats,

I like good anglo saxon language more than most women (should), but that made me go a delicate shade of pink.

  • Busytown: A wee development,

Congratulations. Too, too sweet. And please carry on exploiting them mercilessly. It makes for lovely, lovely reading. Oh, and there is the added bonus, of course, that if, no make that when , you move back here, you are assured that there will be plenty of surrogate aunties and uncles for babysitting puposes.

  • Hard News: Veitch,

OK even if you know part of it is a con.

For shame, Sacha. How is it a con? A woman auditions for Britain's Got Talent, and gets through because she has a lovely, some would say astonishing, voice. Are you suggesting that she wouldn't have got in front of the judges if she hadn't been somewhat not the shiny happy "norm"? I see how the producers put through ridiculous people because it makes for good television. They would have heard her sing, however, and known how good she was. I refuse to be cynical enough to believe they wouldn't have put her up there regardless of how she "looked".
