  • Hard News: Some Lines for Labour, in reply to izogi,

Are you sure this isn’t more a widely held perception of what they’re saying rather than what they’re actually saying?.

hey, don't shot the messenger man... god knows if i have to apply a calendula and dandelion compress i'll never heal.

If it was a “from the right” column i’d be fine with that

meh. a tory column in a tory rag.

    colour me surprised.

My personal guess is that by making elections popularity contests

i just can't let this one go...

bart, nothing personal, but you're familiar with how voting works, aren't you. ;)

    spoken like a consultant :)

i think you just called me a bullshit artist...

i'm diagnosing three drops of disbelief in a glass of water. three weeks from now you'll lap up everything you hear in the NZH.

So basically, the Greens should stop opposing NACT and adopt centre-left policies

not at all. there needs to be:
    a) a movement away from naturopathy
    b) a reimagining of policy.

what exactly “reimagining” means will cost you.

  • Hard News: Some Lines for Labour, in reply to andrew r,

to be honest, it's all we're left with.

perhaps, with the right kind of approach, the Greens could shake their looney-left image and seriously position themselves as a credible government leader.

with the two main parties now completing for the same bribe-induced vote, something aspirational would be a thing i'd vote for.

  • Hard News: Some Lines for Labour,

good luck with finding any Opposition here in NZL.

have voted Labour forever. not this time round. they're just too bloody useless for words.

perhaps this election will see the rise of a third party able to oppose the NatLab centre-party.

  • Hard News: The witless on the pitiless, in reply to Islander,

likewise, have always associated tauiwi with "foreigners", say south africans or chinese, while pa:keha: is old english settler stock like my people.

on a side note, a linguist described the etymology of pa:keha: to me as "has different feeling", and is conceptually related to mauri.

early settlers just had a weird vibe about them, apparently.
