I think listening is also a problem.

Looks like Maori TV's just been outbid - by the Government.
Clowns.

The mosh pit was half full
Half? Try maybe quarter. And they just stood there. I felt like yelling "move dammit! Move!"
I only caught a bit of the show, but when the lifetime award was being given, it was very noticeable through the TV that a decent portion of the audience were chatting away and not paying any attention to the stage.
It was very noticable from where I was too. Kind of inevitable with that many tables encouraging people to talk to each other.

Far be it from me to say that this person is irony-challenged, but ... oh dear. I thought Anika was funny enough to deserve her own TV show. I liked the way Savage got political again, with an endorsement of Len Brown for super-city mayor. I danced when the Mint Chicks played 'She's a Mod', and I liked the way Fat Freddy's Drop built up to a big psychedelic throb (no, you didn't see the end on the TV). And I was also most impressed with the confidence of Ruby Higgins amongst the presenters in the C4 coverage.
The Fad Freddy's Drop song was the highlight for me.
I was to the side with the plebs, staring down at the tables where the good, the great and the not so great were seated. You get a pretty good view of the stage from up high.
The Anika thing was funny to a point, but she did rather go on with it a bit.
You can always argue that someone else should have won something, but I was reasonably happy with the winners. Ladyhawke has had a big year and deserved success.

Becase Maori TV have an agenda to push...
You sure you're not pushing your own?

If you're going to rag on Kiwiblog, at least have the courage to go do it on Kiwiblog...
Been there, got the postcard. I don't generally bother anymore, because it just generates a shitstorm, and leaves the perpetrators feeling validated.

Emma. I try to be consistent with the demerits policy. The idea is that it tells people when they step over the line, and an incentive not to keep doing so. Last time I checked I have handed out demerits on several hundred occasions to around 100 different people. Most respond to it - 20 or so have carried on and been suspended.
There's an actual policy? Because it looks as if some people are able to get away with hate speech at will, while others get hit with demerits.
I had hoped the Crown Law Office review of potential contempt of court issues involving Kiwiblog would encourage DPF to clean out the sewer. But it appears nothing changes.

and having a go at destroying the Pacific Fleet, which they got most of in one bang.
But in fact the attack was of very limited value militarily - the four battleships they sunk were elderly, and two were salvaged. The real assets - the aircraft carriers - were out of port at the time.

You have expressed perfectly my own view on the "bore of the century". I don't care who wins. I just don't care about professional boxing anymore. It is a joke and has been for the last 10-15 years.
If people want to pay good money to watch two average fighters slugging each other then let them. But kudos to the promoters for getting people to hand over big money for this. They clearly have skill.
