Am I the only person left in the world that hasn't got 1) an ipod or MP3 player or 2) a cellphone that takes pictures? Just curious........ And about all this turntable stuff, I know little about it, except that my brother does it and he's very good. I like songs with sampling in them and I really don't care how music gets made. No purist me.

Personally, I'd rather watch Classic Millionaire and Ask the Aunties than the news. Far too depressing. I read the Herald online every morning when I get up and I watch some news bits online during the evening.

Just saw the ad on Maori TV, Russell. Nice one. Reminds me of the language we use at kindergarten - "It's not nice to hit other people". I sometimes think, bollocks to that, it's all a bit polite. Nevertheless, it's a message that needs supporting.

I have always been a huge No Nukes person, stemming back to my sister being a large part of the movement (rubber boats in the harbour with placards etc in the 70's sort of thing - and plus which we're a protesting sort of family), but I did wonder about the viability of nuclear power just recently. I can't have been too committed to the idea that it might be good for us though, because I have to say that Andrew's partner's arguments are very convincing.

Have a nice time folks, and I'll see y'all in a month's time.
I'm with you, Deborah. I. Just. Don't. Care (until we win, in which case I care alot, and if we don't win, I just shrug it off. Bit like the America's Cup, except not as personally resonant).

As I would have said on another thread, absolument!

Ah, Paris. I love it. When I lived in Swissland, I used to spend a bit of time in that lovely city.

Sorry, Michael, I meant to also say that your story is what triggered the above post.
