I think I need to assert my cricket fandom more in our household. I've gradually been overwhelmed by the sheer volume of NFL NBA MLB coverage. This summer, I shall make a stand! Every now and then we will turn over from ESPN, and he will have to listen to the comforting gentle drone of test match commentators as I putter about in the kitchen... I feel warm and pleasant just thinking about it.
At least we've fixed that problem where our tail-enders were making half our runs.
Have we *really*, though? I can't trust them.

it's having had a statistically improbably good team in the eighties that has ruined the psyche of the NZ cricket fan
Yeah, that (you should hear my mother on the Howarth years), but also: it's the inconsistency. You just can't count on the buggers for anything! Except heartbreak.
I call the mentality 'Cricket Goth'. You float about full of woe, all emo-like, and every now and then something wonderful happens when you aren't expecting it.

The Mockers' 'One Black Friday'? We could all wear throat ruffles and fingerless lace gloves.
Alternatively, we could change our theme colour to pink and have 'Pink Frost'. Or blue and have 'Blue Beat'. I'd love to hear thousands of people singing 'a-chick-ee-chick-ee-chang-chang' in a stadium...

And that bathroom! You'd just have to sit down and... powder things.
While listening to what I believe is an... inbuilt radio and/or intercom above the toilet roll holder? Aqua, naturally.

Prediction: someone will buy it for the massive floor space, rip out all that is vintage, retro, wondrous, and otherwise holy about it, and create some minimalist shrine in tones of cream and taupe. And the angels shall weep.

That is absolutely stunning.
I know, right? That built-in orange vinyl bar has me actually drooling like Homer Simpson.

The only thing not 1970's about this house is the price
Also, is it wrong of me to want that house with a fiery passion? I mean, I really really want it. (Apart from the lounge suite. But I would keep everything else!)

American "humour"
Gah.

I'm not sure what an orange cloud would be symbolic of, however.
I'd probably invest in a badass umbrella (ella ella! ehh ehh ehh!... ahem, sorry, damn Rihanna-brain) at that point.

if we get through the next three years without Ministerial krumping I'll be happy
For me, exactly the opposite is true. If there's no Ministerial krumping at some point during this government's term, I'm writing the whole thing off as a dead loss!
