Bling however... that shit's gotta be banned.
Square, daddio. :)
(Misogyny = not good. But awesome production/bass/flow/hooks = really good. With hip-hop my brain has some serious cognitive dissonance.)

I blame those parents of hers, myself...
Sorry Craig, but that Traceh is just a wrong un. There's nowt to blame Deirdre for. (Besides, these last few episodes have been camp classics on the Deirdre front. The way she sucks on those cigarettes and starts gasping for breath during her panic attacks is absolutely brilliant.)

However if I die my (American) wife can claim it ..... let's not give her any ideas ....
I think she can actually claim a proportion of it even if you don't die, as soon as she turns 62. But the Social Security site has various rather impenetrable rules. I think the main idea is to just keep bugging them until they give in and send you a cheque!
This post has made me feel mentally enriched. I mean, I don't understand a damn thing in it, but I feel as though reading it has made me cleverer in some indefinable way.

The highest paid teacher (with a postgraduate degree and several years of experience) falls a couple of thousand dollars short of the Herald's 'modest income'.

If my wife and I move to Australia then our after-tax incomes increase by roughly 80% overnight, due to wage and tax disparities.
a) People don't stay or leave countries based solely on monetary concerns.
b) You're bitching about taxes/WFF, but the real problem is that our wages suck. Not being an economist, I have no idea how to fix our wages. But this 'we pay all the bills for you poor people, so if you don't let us keep more money we'll abandon you plebs and fuck off to Australia' argument of yours? It's probably not the best way to win friends and influence people. I'm just saying.

feminism still largely blames men for everything
Forehead, meet desk. I despair.
How about 'not lying'? How about describing girls in some way where girls who DO experience sexual desire in their early teens can recognise themselves?.... But mostly, how about 'hey, you know what, everybody's different, and it's okay if you want to, and it's okay if you don't'?
I just want to repeat this. I agree with it. Vehemently. In a kind of scary 'backing away from the crazy person at the party who is ranting at you about something really important to them' way.

Divorced? I don't think they made it as far as the altar.
Oh snap, Lucy! That was good. :)
70k is a modest salary if you are part of the new New Zealand middle class.
I thought *I* was middle class. Since I earn the princely sum of 41,100 a year, I am, according to the Herald, the working poor (?!). I clearly need to start getting more militant. <raises fist in socialist salute>
As Tom says, it seems as though the people who actually *do* earn modest incomes - like, minimum wage - are almost out of the picture at the moment. Which is... a bit disturbing.

even $70,000 is a modest income these days
Jesus Christ. These people are utterly divorced from reality, aren't they?

Specifically because of this horror, I just didn't use the phrase 'some girls do, some girls don't' over on the other thread.
The ultimate earworm! I salute you. And curse you, in equal measure. :)
