They're getting fairly meta these ads aren't they. I mean, we all refer to Rooney as a bit of a pikey but the Nike official ad...

And thanks to Pete Darlington for the heads up on this little beauty: LCD Soundsystem cover Paperclip People's 'Throw'.
Cheers! I should just point out that LCD tip came from Jason 'J' from Bluevibe Studio who's a top chap and well worth the follow on Twitter at @bluevibestudio for any keen music Tweeps out there.

I defy you to point out a band that sounds like The Phoenix Foundation from anywhere else. Or The Chills for that matter. Or early Enz.
There is a thoroughly unique strand that goes through NZ pop which is almost continuous back to the mid sixties. On the extraordinary new PF album I can hear The Hi Revving Tongues and The Chills and Blam Blam Blam which I doubt is conscious but it's very much us.
Word up!

Hey! I take umbrage at that. You leave my (adopted for extremely spurious reasons) team alone!
We can both still hate Man U though, right? :)

My mum met her football-mad partner when I was 8, he was a Notts Forrest supporter so his best mate saw fit to save me from that and bought me a Man U strip. From then until I was 14 I had every Man U strip, homes, alternates, aways, one-offs, in varying levels of authenticity. My birthday cake for my 10th birthday was banana in the shape of a shirt with red icing and a devil's logo.
Meh, there's no such thing as a Man U (or a Chelsea) supporter because they're not proper teams, even people in Manchester and London think that.
Now, Notts Forest, that's a proper team.

Oi. I've just had a look at their Website and there is no Technology section!
You're really unemployed aren't you Hadyn?

Either that or kiwi women really are amazing temptresses and kiwi blokes the most APBs in the world.
I'm certainly comfortable with this theory...

Snoop Dogg with a live band and slowly morphing into George Clinton could be the surprise hit on Friday at the Pyramid stage I reckon. Would love to be there.

When are you coming down for Marchfest Russ? It's usually a very civilised chance for a few superb brews, some tunes and a catchup.
Also, I ride in the crappiest t-shirt I can find and rugby shorts. It's kinda like lycra-repellent.

Sapphire and Steel wasn't "scary" but did something much more interesting -- I borrowed the DVDs off a friend a while back, and while it looks awfully cheap and downright cheesy in patches there's still this ghastly sense of unease.
Hell yeah, the children home alone, the soldiers trapped at the railway station, very unsettling stuff.
Dr Who, Blakes 7 etc... were more easily digested but still great when compared to their American counterparts such as Gilligan's Island and Happy Days. We only watched those shows because they were on TV, it was the Brit stuff we really looked forward to.
