  • Hard News: This is Your TV on Drugs,

It would probably be much less direct. The President appoints the directors of the FBI, so presumably has a lot of influence over them. An FBI ignoring the Administration's position is one risking a big broom. But does the FBI go after pot anyway? Seems a bit small-potatoes for them.

This is actually pretty big news.

    Also pretty good news.

Point Chevalier beach, about 11am today.

Nice contrast. You're even pointing the camera in the same direction as my second shot. Kauri Point looks really far away :-)

At least 8km to the Waitaks from there. But on a good day from Mt Eden it's pretty easy to see the whole length of the Coromandel, around 70km away. Great Barrier Island can be seen, just a mass on the horizon, another 20km beyond.

Just looking at that cools me down after this session. Summer in Auckland.

    Depicted from bottom to top:

Mud flats, Pt Chev. Shags or herons. Man, woman, dog, at Raymond Reserve. Waitemata harbour. Wildlife reserve, Traherne Island. North western motorway, Patiki Rd on-ramp. Rosebank industrial point, wrecker, paint supplies. Massive pylon in middle of Whau Creek, far shore is Glendene (I think, the foreshortening makes it hard to eliminate the chance that it's the Great North Rd ridgeline). Beyond, the looming mass of the Waitakere Ranges.

I blame the heat haze rather than unsteady hands for the lack of clarity.

    Next pic opposite direction:

Some are undeterred by the super low tide. Kauri Pt Wharf never looked so close, but that's about 2km to the North Shore.

Last pic: Digging muddy pools never gets old. Marcus imitates frog, Zane digs like a Trojan, and an unknown boy on a mission to find crabs. Behind is the new platform, which is probably in 2m of water at high tide. I managed to get the exact wrong time today.

Suffice to say, thoughts went to birdshit everywhere.

You're inviting birdshit! I learned that the hard way when I thought it might be cool to let some lost ducks live on our back lawn. Pretty soon every exterior surface was covered in shit and I couldn't get rid of the ducks, they didn't want to go. I ended up having to actually chase them around with a broom, screaming, until they decided to push off.

Classic. I see you in the crowd with your cap on backwards and a racehorse between your fingers.

    Yesterday, birds of a feather…

But....that's a thrush and a blackbird, mortal enemies?

Curious effect. The edges of the petals look like they've been penciled, but this is raw footage.
