What camera did you get, as a matter of interest?
Fuji Finepix S4200. Still cheapish, but approximately 10 times the quality of anything I've owned before.
Getting closer - suggest hanging nice piece of gurnard from the lens, or at least somewhere handy....
I'm bordering on bribing it, but so far I've been getting about a meter closer every week, so I'll have it in my hands by Feb. I like cats but don't want to own one. It's a bit mean to feed someone else's cat, borders on theft :-)

More stokage. This greenhouse I built for fun with my boyz turns out to be far too hot. Intended for seed raising, none have sprouted, I'd have to water them like 3 times a day. But look what nature decided to just put in there for me instead.
Also depicted, a perfectly legal use for Switched On Gardener mylar sheeting.
That tomato is twice the height of all the ones in my Victory Garden (pics coming soon).

Since I know you all love cats. My new camera, first time in my life I've got something decent. This photoblog was the inspiration. I've been stalking this cat for weeks now, and it spent 10 minutes sneaking along this fenceline, intently following something in my garden below. This is the closest I've got, yet, a distance of about 5m. I'm so stoked - you can actually see the reflection in its eyes of the clothesline I was hiding behind as I crept up.
I believe this is the cat expression for "busted dude, I saw your feet, but good effort"

I mistakenly thought that "cracking a fat" was farting. I was set right on that after one particularly embarrassing gaffe. No one ever wants to know that you've cracked a particularly stinky fat.
ETA They become distinctly alarmed when you say that it's "silent but violent"
