  • Hard News: In the Game,

She suggests that to get school principals to understand the autistic child and their need for things to be predictable and unchanging, is to get to school early and park in the principal's car park.

    What a brilliant suggestion!

The Vatican gave Josef fucking Mengele the passport that enabled him to flee to South America. His protector, Cardinal Siri, was very nearly made Pope - he lost narrowly to Pacelli.

  • Hard News: The new wave,

Te Papa is very crowded today being a wet day in the school holidays. Awesome Forces section particularly busy with people examining the giant tectonic plate globe.

I often think that when the Big One comes odds are somebody will be in a the earthquake house at Te Papa and they're going to think blimey, this thing is AWESOME.

Is it too late to write in appreciation of this post? It's all very well put and one cannot but enthusiastically agree.

As good as in Milan? By the way are you there yet and did you get held up by the red dust over Oz?

Maria Pia's is a fabulous restaurant, and yes it would more than hold its own over here as well, in the mould of the Ambasciatori in Quistello - a restaurant who got its full allotment of stars from the Michelin guide by asking the local grandmothers for their recipes. I'm very fond of that cuisine indeed, and Maria Pia is a brilliant exponent (her book is good too).

I did indeed get to Milan in spite of a bumpy ride followed by uncertainty on whether we'd be able to land in Sydney along the way.

Aha - Glass Spider and (I think the one you saw would have been) Sound+Vision were the ones he hated doing so he probably was all grumpy.

The poor dear, just as well I didn't pay for the tickets on account of the fact I didn't feel like it.

(Yes, it was the Sound+Vision tour btw.)

    Really? When and where?

The glass spider tour and the one after that. Milan stadium the first time and I'd say a smaller venue (Palatrussardi) the one after. On both occasions he made us wait for it too - our cheering was probably not grovelling enough in the end.

Yeah, but he's never, in some 40 odd years, looked puffy.

On the two occasions I saw him perform, he looked like a fucker who wouldn't come out for encores.
