Mr Garrett had "a big battle ahead of him" to regain credibility as Act's law and order spokesman, he said.
Nevertheless, he believed Mr Garrett deserved a second chance.
All men deserve second chances. But some deserve second chances more than others. Pihema Cameron, anyone?

Yes, the media is just not interested in informing the people. If I knew nothing of this "Attack on Democracy" the TV News would have made me no wiser, all they were interested in was three strikes Garret.
As Simon said "The media seek fights, not truth." they see only sensational scandal. Like John Stewart said "Ooh look, a squirrelIt's only an "attack on democracy" if it threatens advertising revenue.

Looks like the latest gamekeeper has turned poacher. Not quite on the scale of Graham Capill, but not that far from it either. Do as they say, not as they do, in both cases.

Time now for some philosophical mash-up.
"Power comes from the barrel of a gun." - Chairman Mao.
"Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." - Lord Acton. Therefore, power and corruption come from the barrel of a gun.
In this day and age, absolute power comes from the barrel of an executive's pen. Therefore, absolute power and absolute corruption come from the barrel of an executive's pen.

It reminds me of when Rush Limbaugh remarked that people resort to name-calling when they run out of arguments. The same Rush Limbaugh who went on to coin terms such as "politically correct" and "feminazi".

It's probably more comparable with Muldoon's National Development Act.

And at some point, closer to Decision 2011, I'd love to be on one end of a mike pointed at McCoskrie and asking him some searching questions about real family needs as opposed to FF's version of them...
Goodsex and Sexcrime, anybody?
-
Good grief. Those questions are an illustration of quite how weird Family First is.
Their sole definition of an acceptable view of "afford housing" is "get rid of zoning restrictions".
Except when it comes to brothels, apparently.
And I wouldn't be surprised if they're party to the McMansionisation of housing in NZ.
I've mentioned it before, but that article is all the more reason for a McMansion tax.

To cut a long story short: Socialism For the Rich.

In other news, the new issue of Investigate magazine apparently says that oral sex gives you cancer.
Someone obviously never heard of J. Edgar Hoover...
"We at the FBI regret to inform that we are unable to investigate matters of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce."
