  • Hard News: There is History,

I doubt 'unable' to find it. Too friggin lazy, maybe.

Or was it the 'Central America' designation? Which is not too far off the mark, esp as they consider USAians to be 'norteamericanos'.

  • Hard News: Playing Nice?,

Sacha - try 'pedants'. We have to accept what we are, even if the term has become a little pejorative.

Bart - someone's bound to try telling you that alligators are mammals too, as they have to come up for air.

  • Up Front: Also, The Rain Isn't Gone,

I trust they no longer use a speculum fresh out of the fridge.

Us blokes only have to have a finger up the bum now & again after turning 50 to check the prostate. Makes it a bit difficult to look your doctor in the eye immediately after teh 1st one.

  • Random Play: Hi-ho hi-ho it's off to…,

I like the ones indicating that the Nats shouldn't rescind the tax-cuts because they were an election promise when the obvious retort would be that that is exactly why they should rescind them - after all, they were only an election promise...

Aaah fuck 'em - they make me all the more determined to use the Maori versions from now on.

And "Jona from Katikati" knows where s/he can stick the axes & blankets.

It wasn't just a case of "Yupik a name for eskimos..."?
    I knew it!

  • Field Theory: He's the voice,

Ian Jones is of much the same quality as Ian Smith (Alias Smith & Jones?) but as an ex-AB he has at least 'been there & done that' and has an insiders p-o-v.

You'd think that might make him a little better than "Smithy", but sadly...

Got to admit, we cracked up when my darling heard Ian Jones making comments and asked who was the outrageously camp commentator - we had taken him for granted up till then & suddenly realised she was right! He does sound very camp. Can't hear him without smiling, now.

OK, Goivanni, I can see that we will just have to agree to differ on this one. I find his remarks generally asinine and uninformative and you don't. No biggy.
