Uroskin
- The police, who risk losing their budgets for fancy helicopters to haul in cannabis from forests, undercover cops and other extra personnel (and by extension, the prison service, who risk losing a large number of their clients)
Has anyone considered the wisdom of LEAP?

Hmmm. Yeah, OK, probably true, but aren't there a lot of goods we rich westerners buy which cause suffering elsewhere? Example: isn't oil similar? It indirectly causes wars, corruptions, environmental damage, all manner of things. It's just more useful to us as a society than cocaine, so we mostly ignore the dodgy parts. We're all complicit, we're all hypocrites, we're all corrupt. (Oh, also, the world is doomed and people suck. Happy Thursday!)
Reminds me of this gem from the proudly ex-Republican Arianna Huffington earlier in the decade. It couldn't be more true in the wake of General Motors going Chapter 11, thanks in no small part to its inability to think small.

What does freeview provide that sky doesn't these days?

The man has sold 750 million albums. Anybody want to bet how many he's going to sell in the next twelve months? I have a feeling the estate will pull through somehow.
From past precedent, death sells for megastars. It's worked for John Lennon, Tupac Shakur, Notorious BIG, and The Ramones, among others.

Does stapling a note of displeasure to your referendum ballot invalidate it? I don't know if there's anything in the Electoral Act that says so.

And the candidates are :
And we think we have an identity crisis...
New Zealand-Aotearoa might have two names, but at least they refer to the same thing. The English live in a country with five accepted, but not interchangeable names: England, Britain, Great Britain, the United Kingdom and the more geographic British Isles. Each of these is problematic for different sets of its inhabitants, with the exception of Britain, which omits the cringing “Great” and remains almost all-inclusive.

And yep, kids *misbehave* - but - blaming kids for being kids and then warranting physical punishment for such behaviour?
And aren't they the same people who whinge about society cotton-wooling today's kids? They can't have it both ways.

Um what? I just find it rather amusing that people are so shocked at the notion that courting Laura Norder before the election will have consequences afterwards -- and some of those might not be pretty. As I said: What the frak was anyone really expecting?
It all comes as no surprise to me. But am I not the only one to suspect that it could come to something like this, or even this?
And as I mentioned in another thread, there'll be a nationwide shortage of ambulances because they've all been deployed to the bottom of Norder Cliff.

I'm told that in the late-1970s through early 1980s it was actually useful. Most politicians stopped taking it seriously as a representation of broad public opinion in the 1990s.
Any coincidence between the above and the ascendancy of Big Media Inc?

Hmmm. Two men enter, one man leaves. Sounds familiar?
Better still, the finest men in America don't run for President. They run for their lives.
