  • Hard News: Belief Media, in reply to Sacha,

When karakia are said in the ECE sector, as they are all the time whenever there are hui of any sort, there is the mistake made of making them fit the Christian model. I have partaken in what I would call more authentic karakia, which make no mention of Te Ariki but instead are about directionality (ie you turn to each direction to acknowledge), about the universe around us, about acknowledgement of our past and future. Far more edifying for me personally. Incidentally, we say karakia before morning/afternoon tea - but it's simply a thanks for food to the universe.

Yesterday we had the traditional Clark Easter Family lunch. My sister talked too much, and I had to have regular breaks from the talking because I might talk more than most people, but I sure don't talk more than most of my family. It was pretty bucolic out here though.

Well, he is a very cool cat. That’s for sure. They are incredibly intelligent creatures. That’s how they get us to run around after them even though we know there may not be anything in it for us.

Well it was officially the first day of holidays. Much of it, for me and my girl, was spent in bed, catching up on some telly. Ruby did some sunbathing later in the day, in a very unusual place. For a dog, that is.

    The Pallisers

    and The Onedin Line

As you can tell, I was a sophisticated young woman with a yearning for servants.

Oh yes, I too miss Cook St market. Funnily enough, I went to this body/mind/spirit fair (well, one tiny room to be honest) in the weekend, and it smelled just like Cook St market used to. Ah, patchouli! Ah, incense!
