Spring for me is heralded by the Kingfishers that come to nest in our phoenix palm. One of the pair turned up on Sunday and has been around much of today, calling out and beginning the work of digging out the nest in the tree. I hope they have more luck this year, I found two eggs at the base of the tree last year so assume they lost them overboard.

Still got this one stuck up on the wall since 2007, it's a bit faded now. I love how when you see them do stuff like this you realise how lightweight birds are - that's a very thin twig of bottlebrush its clinging too.

This is fun. Discovering all these pics I never did much with from years ago. I've now done a panorama of Valletta harbour, with the combined blues of sky and sea.
