Don't let that son of yours hang out with evil influences ... he'll grow up to be a country singer!!!
Seen on a rear bumper:
Prevent In-breeding. Ban Country Music.

A post-election analysis discovered that Richard Worth was the third most popular candidate on Facebook, after John Key, and Helen Clark.
Was it because he's not Rodney Hide?

But seriously, Roger Douglas could have been put in a bottle. Then we could have marveled about how his head managed to fit.
How about a suitcase? They float better than Wall St is right now ;)

Isn't this happening with the Kordia pipe though?
It is, but it hasn't been given much publicity in comparison with the FTTx rollout.
-
And if I were Steven Joyce, I'd upgrade the backhaul and international bandwidth first, then the FTTx would follow after that. It'd be even better if the proposed Kordia-PipeNet cable was run from Kapiti instead of Piha, so that all the data eggs don't all go into one cable basket.

There seems to be some kind of "quarter acre cartel" who still dominate the city planning debate - an unholy alliance of blue-rinse McMansionites and eco-Luddites. On the flip side of the coin, shoebox tower developers haven't helped matters much either.

Erm, to quote someone who is currently on Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew (!): 'can't we all just get along?'
That phrase goes back a bit further, and in a far less benign context...
People, I just want to say, you know, can we all get along? Can we get along? Can we stop making it, making it horrible for the older people and the kids?...It’s just not right. It’s not right. It’s not, it’s not going to change anything. We’ll, we’ll get our justice....Please, we can get along here. We all can get along. I mean, we’re all stuck here for a while. Let’s try to work it out. Let’s try to beat it. Let’s try to beat it. Let’s try to work it out.

I still really don't get how dumping on, say, Downstage, helps the arts funding issue which is what these two Metro clowns did. I guess setting up an inter-city stoush sells more mags and pulls in the viewers.
I can imagine the AKL-WLG stoush coming to something like, "Be careful what you say... or the museum gets it!"

I wonder if the powers-that-be are afraid of a Ken Livingstone taking up the Greater Auckland mayoral chains? If that happened, would they just do what Thatcher did in the 1980s and put it out of its misery?

Pretty good overall, for a début event.
Epic battery fail... not so good.
