Is the policeman in the Village People?
Well it is Christchurch!
in some ways I feel that someone who spends the time to publicly say they're 'amused' when the ABs lose is kind of indirectly being mean to my nice old Grandad.
And in some ways I feel like your nice old Grandad is making presumptions on my feelings that I really don't appreciate.

The welcome became so boisterous that a policeman had to be stationed on the shoulder of Dan Carter to ensure the All Blacks' playmaker wasn't overwhelmed.
Now I have an image of a policeman literally on Dan Carter's shoulders, perhaps unbuttoning his shirt to flash another player.

Metro
20 Questions, #11: Russell Brown campaigns against family violence....earbashing doesn't count then?

"Don't vote City Vision. They are the fun police."
I think we could use some fun police after the trials this year. Maybe they could hire bouncy castles for their parties and make balloon animals instead.

The post is by one of his mates, but the candidate himself, Blair Anderson, has added a note declaring that reporting family violence is -- wait for it -- "narcing up".
I echo your what the fuck? The message that I've taken from the campaign - although granted, it's a message that's been pretty firm in my head since I was a teenager - is about speaking out if you're getting hit, or if you're doing the hitting, not about what the neighbours are up to.
So Metro was "narcing up" when they accused you of earbashing?

so all the evidence is anecdotal.
So it doesn't count if someone says "My partner beats me when we lose at the rugby" because that's just an anecdote?

When I found out that the All Blacks lost I laughed and laughed and laughed, because I am so fucking sick of being told that all New Zealanders are behind the All Blacks. Um, no we're not, many of us would like everyone to shut the fuck up about it. And then I felt bad thinking about the refuges. And the only other thing that I will say on this matter, because I'm sure going on about how everyone is going on about it is pretty counterproductive as well, is howcome in all the polls and questioning and inquests as to why 'we' lost, there isn't an Option E: The French were better?

Also if you head out to Hakone region i highly recommend the Open-Air Art Museum and buying the 'Hakone Free-Pass' which means you can use all/any transport as many times as you like in the park area (bus, train, gondola, cablecars etc).
Oh hell yes, that place is awesome! Although it might be slightly less cool if you're a proper grownup and can't reaaally get away with playing in the big perspex structure thing and the very rad netting playground/sculpture.

dangerous fruit loop # 1, John Bolton
Okay look. I know his version of 'Dock of the Bay' is pretty ghastly, and anyone who'd want to do Nicolette Sheridan obviously has some dubious taste, but "dangerous"? I think that's a bit much.
