Are you giving up smoking so you don't miss out on awesome opportunities to get seduced again?

In the early '90s, the survey box lady came to our house.
Does anyone else remember that episode of Roseanne when they got a people-meter, and so she would only let them watch documentaries and "quality" programming because she wanted to look good, so they all ended up watching an old black & white set out in the garage?

because gaynz.com is blocked by the work filters. Interesting logic these work filters......
In denfense of your work filters (wow, there's a phrase I'm surprised I'm using), gaynz.com has a lot of half naked ads for sex hook-up services, like the seedy back pages of The Truth. I looked at them and hastily scrolled down the page because they do look a little NSFW.

Apparently, there are many many more sex changes in Iran than anywhere else in the world, as it's a way for people who experience same sex desire to evade oppressive laws. The point, though, is that these sex changes are all state funded, as a tacit acknowledgment that homosexual desire exists, even if homosexual identity doesn't (cue witty comment about state-sponsored terrorism here).
Your comment was really interesting, Jake. And nice and timely, this article showed up from Salon, and is really interesting too.

Ratings boxes are generally given to largish families who watch a lot of TV and probably do passively in their seats watching a show and then watching what comes next.
And only to people who own their own homes, and if I was to generalise, I would imagine those people to slightly older than those who don't own their own houses, who in general might spend their disposable income on bandwidth and gadgets to make watching downloaded TV a more enjoyable experience than being hunched over a tiny laptop.

Personally, I'm more troubled that we're squinting past murderous state homophobia (because, after all, there's no homosexuality when all the fags and dykes are dead) as long as the regimes involved keep buying plenty of good Kiwi butter and lamb.
But there aren't any homosexuals in Iran!
but they're all put on the back burner to agonise over the stupid, purile and ignorant rantings of a 14 year old.
Whose back burner are you talking about? Front page news is very often the most trivial of all news, but it doesn't mean that people who actually think stop caring about the other travesties that are happening in the world just the Dom says that's what's most important today.

n mentioning the privacy settings I am not implying that making bigoted comments privately makes it alright.
I think privacy settings are a good idea to put things more into context. I mean, I can imagine that a good number of people might be horrified at the jokes that my friends and I make over the dinner table, if they didn't know that (for example) when we use "You know who else did that? THE NAZIS!" as a punchline it's based on a lecture we had in first year of university, or if I scream "I'm not marrying some bloody lesbian!" we're quoting Jackson's Wharf, and I couldn't possibly be a bigot because some of my best friends and I like to sleep with people of both sexes, and it's hard to express tongue-in-cheekness or even sarcasm or deliberate irony over the internet. Unless of course, you go for like, a total overload of italics tags. Because of course it's okay if you put it in italics.

"What will you be doing to your son Mr English?"
I never thought that I'd be the type of person who'd be all "WHERE ARE THE PARENTS?????" but here I'd have to say "What are you doing to your son, Mr English, that might have influenced him to think that way?"

sometimes people on the internet make things up,
Are you suggesting that Jackie's not actually a legist?
