I still stamp on them when I find them anywhere near the sandpit at work - they like to live inside our big canopy umbrella.

What gorgeous photos, my friend. I especially like the kuia greeting the manuhiri. Beautiful.

I must say that sounds like a very edifying holiday! Next time you're in Auckland, though (and you aren't so busy rushing round) I, and a few others I imagine, would love to see you.

Lilith – love that Andrew Bird. One of my favourite singer/songwriters is called Sam Sallon. I encountered him years ago on myspace. He’s just beautiful. There’s 3 songs I have of his – which he kindly sent to me on a CD. I’ve tried to find them on youtube, but none are there. So I will share it via soundcloud.

And go out and buy his new album which is out this year.......... -
Now, if you want meaningful lyrics, this guy is someone I had never heard of, and am very taken by.

So do you think you really need an SLR to get effective night shots? I have found it very difficult with any of my digital cameras to get clear night shots. Always with the blurring and fiddling around with the manual settings, me.

Yes, I had thought that too. Glad I'm not alone!

Really lovely. Stuff like that is often difficult, live. Songs are sometimes so dependent on where they are sung. I am minded of the year that Breaks Co-op played at BDO, which I thought was a bit strange, being as that particular album's music was best consumed in an intimate setting. I understand it was disappointing for them, and no wonder.
