Oh God, I've just had the misfortune of listening to myself speaking into a microphone near the end of a long night with the Wellingtonista.
I'm assuming that we all sound worse than you anyways.
And I'm a big fan of the real names on the internet thing, or at the very least having a consistent nickname so that people can take things you say in the context of you.

Do the mp3s come with ads? Because I'd like to check that I did really hear an ad for some kind of weed killer made out of PALM OIL during the show...

Even if I was mentally able and willing to take party pills, listening to that man from the shop would totally put me off ever taking them. He seemed so skeezy and so ignorant of the laws around what he was doing, and oh man, just so skeezy.

When I read The House of Leaves (which of those of you who are not familiar with it, involves a house with a mysterious room that appears in it) I was living in a big old villa with a large open trapdoor in the ceiling of the bathroom. Up late one night reading it because I was too scared to sleep, I spent a serious amount of time contemplating peeing into a bottle because I was too scared to go to the bathroom for fear that the house would eat me. I was 24. The book was hidden in my sock drawer after that and only read during daylight hours. For months after that, I would suffer from a creeping sense of unease that there was always something right behind me that would move away every time I turned my head around. The same thing happened to a lesser degree when I read Lunar Park. This is why I normally stick with reading rockstar bios.

In regards to RSS, I use Bloglines, and this post still hasn't shown up on it, two hours later.

It was all brilliantly organised
That's because I am so dominant and anal, of course. And because the Wellingtonista rule. And if you'd come for a swim, you could have cleared out your head and felt much better the next day!

It was a superb night. I hope the pineapples get a mention on the radio show...

But not the spelling stratum, Steven?
(I'm not normally quite this petulant, but you know who else calls me Joanne? The NAZIS)

Robyn and Heather - are you sure youse guys aren't describing the old Toyota ads that used to screen circa 1990?
Welcome to our world, won't you come on in... -
I'd be in to it if the online player meant I could watch things at 1.3x the speed, like my parents' DVD hard drive lets me. Shortland St and the news talks waaaaaaaaaay too slowly. I like my television conversations to move at Gilmore Girls/West Wing speed.
