So less people are driving now seat belts are compulsory?

This was the direct effect of cycle helmet laws.

I'm limiting myself to cycles as transport not racing. As with walking or running, if cycling at a casual speed a helmet is not required for safety.

Seat belts on the other hand are used in vehicles that travel at unnatural speeds and we need the racing harnesses while we at it remove of those lap belts in the back seats.

    With you on that Zippy.
Fingers Fahey Deputy Mayor of ChCh and disgraced Dr brought that mad idea to NZ.
The logical extent of which is body armour - just give me a gun to shoot up SUVs.

His failure (amoung others) was to put the cost of safety onto cyclists rather than on the roading itself to make safer spaces to promote cycling.

  • Hard News: Not so much ironic as outrageous,

"i dont see russell and others of the "woolly jumper brigade fraternity" jumping up & down about the very flawed "prison" , "bail" & "justice systems " we have in this country."

Andrew this blog has quite a bit of discussion on that subject, just a diff view than yourself I suspect.

I myself am very concerned at the excessive use of & Prison was designed as a civil alt to capital punishment then quickly turned as an instrument of empire building with open prisons of the Americas & Australia providing a bases for Brit world domination.

We have a skills shortage in horticulture/dairy etc in NZ and a captive community to upskill .Not to mention literacy. Prion farms seem the logical next step.

"Has anyone noticed that cows often congregate around the milking shed .I see they don't need help to get there. I wonder if they want human contact?"

It's selective breeding that has made their udders full to bursting and painful if not milked. Kind of like the que for the loo I saw earlier tonight.

There's alot of violence out there. I've always thought that Stereo-Gram song was about me and drunks from all walks of life giving it a go.

I was 1 of 4 bouncers escourting a Uni Lecherer down some stairs who in one breathe said "I'm a pacifist, next time I see you in town I'm goin stab you".
He was in his 40s/30s the girl that left with him wasn't & he's still working hard to educate the yuf today.

Kyle I got caught up in something very much like your senario. Thankfully the complainant was in the Cops Rugby Team which went along way to dismiss his character and his complaint.

The thing is drunks often comply initially but then once the walk to the door starts or some fresh air hits them they realise they're leaving & fight. Yes that means they shud hve been kicked out earlier in the night. Crowds and wet surfaces doesn't help in the battle against gravity either.
These two went through the crowd like two migthty kauri falling down a mountain. Only one was hospitalised and 1st aid was given straight away. But the stories that came back were incredible, bashing his skull on the concrete ... you name it

His cousin came in a month or so latter and when I pointed to the cnr of bar he was pissing in things calmed down alot.

    From scoop

I took the whole Work Stories as unprofessional & unethical.

    http://www.newcops.co.nz/AboutTheForce/BetterWorkStories

As for the sheep story it makes light of police killing vandals.

Sauna - making light of suicide

Stroke victim - well they're always funny - right?

    I gave up after that.
