Hey at least you could hear what it was saying. The indecipherable ranting I heard a couple of days back just confirmed my impressions of the candidate.
About a fortnight ago, John Boscawen and a friend were campaigning of all places at the bottom of a stairwell in the Mount Albert Pak 'n' Save.
He was personable enough and handed me a leaflet, and I wished him good luck. Have no idea why that location was chosen though...

yes, and its a distinction you'll have to make very clear,
Noted.
but you can't tell me there is absolutely no element of point scoring against the opposing side on the abortion issue when one of em acts like a evangelical mad man. Grant appears to be sensitive to that and I can understand that, if not his position on the overall issue.
Sure there'll be some degree of point-scoring, but I certainly haven't seen worse than what Grant himself has engaged in elsewhere on other issues. I understand Grant's desire not to be tarred with the same brush et cetera, but he saw a broad attack which as far as I can tell wasn't there, and I'm not sure why he's due an apology for that.

but I'm just not sure why you need to lend moral support to Grant
Read my post, i'm not. I said that.
For Gawd's sake. I meant support for his claim that all pro-lifers were being painted with the same brush, not support for his personal moral stance on abortion.
Did I phrase it that badly?

So. Farewell Then
That police statement in full:
Sure is Private Eye in here. I'm tempted to post right up to page 94 just for the hell of it.

While I disagree with grants position he was objecting to people lumping his grandma who disagrees with abortion in with the twat who shot and killed the guy yesterday. It may not be a distinction you care to make through laziness or disinterest but its the kind of distinction you're be only to happy to have made when you get lumped in with people you don't agree with.
As was said to Grant several times above, nobody actually did lump all prolifers/antiabortionists in with yesterday's killer . You're a stalwart defender of unpopular views here, and I genuinely think that's a Good Thing, but I'm just not sure why you need to lend moral support to Grant in his complaints about alleged 'lumping' which as far as I can tell never took place.

Because there's a difference between saying a particular individual is guilty of an act, and saying the act has occurred.
Steve nailed it. Are we done with this already?

metric fuckton
I am impressed by this unit of measure.
You know you're talking real urban sophistication when someone is measuring it in metric fucktons.

Not up to the headliners' level of fisking, but I found this rather odd.
Members of the former Todd Taskforce on Superannuation have spoken out to reassure New Zealanders that pensions remain sustainable despite the Government's decision to suspend payments to the Superannuation Fund.
...Jeff Todd, who chaired the taskforce which assessed superannuation in 1993 and 1997, says it concluded at the time that the country's pension system was affordable, and says this will still be the case in 2040 when super payments are set to peak.
However, he warns the age of entitlement is likely to rise, while pensions may be trimmed.
Erm... isn't it a bit of a stretch to claim that pensions will definitely remain 'sustainable' without further Cullen Fund contributions, but that we might just have to restrict eligibility and reduce the entitlements? I would have thought that possibly having to give less older people less money in the future would actually be an indicator of unsustainability, wouldn't it?
Is this the weasel wording I think it is?

"Jam tomorrow"
Just as well. Despite what we were told, this sandwich doesn't taste like Nutella to me.

Ah, got it a while ago, but forgot to post as such - thanks though :)
