So true! 'Shear Magic': no. 'Curl Up and Dye': no. No no no.
Cut Above. Hair 'n' Now. And so on.

This was extry fun to read!
Much appreciated
I have long since given up on assuming that anyone wearing the hat or shirt of an American team is, in fact, a fan of said team. It is vaguely annoying.
It is total fun to pretend to be a fan of the same team and say something like "Bro!!! Go [team name]! Hey don't you think they should trade [player name]?"

you would have either got into a fight
Well I did try.
Oh and also, can one stand up inside that humvee? Or does one have to dance on one's knees?
In that Humvee? Dance on your knees? No, not dance.

And a credit to your profession, my man.
I learned by watching the television.
¿ Because it reminds you of the Beastie Boys or the Yeastie Girlz [NSFW] ?
The former. We actually saw it form a long way off and both of us agreed that there was no way a beer with a pun for a name could be bad.

Greg Baum has some funny ideas about terrorism and about how much a life is worth depending on your job:
But, increasingly, terrorists have shown no respect for understandings, explicit or implicit. The attack in Lahore yesterday marks a turning point. Thankfully, no cricketer died (though six security staff and two bystanders were killed). None the less, from today, new understandings come into force.
-
I have to ask a non-serious question about cricket so I'll do it here, given that there is a new stream to talk about the Lahore attack.
If I were to organise some kind of get-together* for the PAS readers in Wellington on the Saturday of the India/NZ test match, how many people would want to show up?
*cricket and then (possibly sponsored) drinks

Six Policemen killed and seven cricketers injured?
Yes. A bus driver was also killed. And one Pakistani umpire in a critical condition. And another umpire and a coach were injured.
are we really sure who the target was?
No. But a large amount of the bullets went towards the buses.
Who has claimed responsibility?
When I wrote this, no one.
This has nothing to do with cricket
Much like the Munich attack had nothing to do with the Olympics. There is obviously a stronger underlying problem here.
However, the use of cricket was clear and deliberate. It makes the attack sharper in the minds of the public. The terrorists are strong enough to take cricket away from Pakistan
-
Pakistan officials were last night quick to say the attack bore the hallmarks of the militants who carried out the attack on the city of Mumbai in November.
I imagine we won't be seeing cricket tours to Pakistan for a long time.
It was claimed by some (Imran Khan?) that terrorists in Pakistan would never attack cricketers because cricket is so loved that the terrorists would lose the support of the public. Perversely though, that is part of the reason why cricket would be a target.
I heard that too, in and out of the media. I don't think the word "terrorist" means someone who wants people to like them.
It has caused terror, it will create uproar and international condemnation, and it will undermine the Pakistani government.

Looks like I will be there for the Saturday of the Basin test - would be keen to meet up with you all there too and compare nerdy blogger stories / get pissed.
Stayed tuned on that idea

LB is right about the pay TV thing, I was just hoping really.
20/20 may just swap around with ODIs, as Stuart says. It may just be more 20/20s are played than ODIs.
Ooo they could play double headers!
