  • Hard News: It was 20 years ago tomorrow ...,

During the run up to the '81 Tour a South African manager at a Christchurch firm said in all sincereity that 'Blacks' were sub-human and needed Paternal Governance.
I have a really ugly story to illustrate the point, but won't share, it's Sunday after all.

Islander, thanks for adding some real depth to this discussion as it applies to the South Island.

In light of the recent decision about the Lammermoor Range, I can't see any reason why this FS&SB shouldn't go to the Courts.

I'm not opposed to wind generation, it was noted by Cook and there's a Maori god of the wind who was resident in a few places of high wind,so NZ has long been recognised for its wind resource. What we need is generation close to populations & industry not at the furthest point from it.

1989 was the year I had to give my National Rowing Medals back for 'cheating'. I never rowed again, bitter, sure am.

The WINZ office in Riccarton backs onto the only Gun Shop for miles & across the road from the Blood Bank.
The guy who placed it there is probably out of prison now, he got back handers for choosing locations.

All developments to date have past through our current crop of planners & Architects.

Just an up date on The Arts Centre in Christchurch.
Yesterday a closed 'workshop' was held at the CCC where submitter Rod Carr has the exclusive ear of council.
He obviously had more to say than he could in an open forum and covered more than was the scope of the council hearings.

The Christchurch Urban Design Panel submission approving of the proposed development is an Anonymous document. They are hiding from critique and it therefore has no veracity.

So MMP minority govts now give minor parties a stage by which to hoist their baubles for all to see.

So Wrodney is doing himself out of a job, as Winston did before him.

Any thoughts if Hone will stand as an independant if Taria puts travel restrictions on him?

Not a good look and changing your story isn't good either. I was sick vs wanted to see Paris.

To some degree surely Hone is acting as a diversion for Key as Hide self destructs in public and all over Johns shiney shoes too.

Is Hone hinting at going it alone next election, as he doesn't like party politics and the responsibilities it has?

Andin, it might add some weight to your (angry) arguement if you get to some specifics.
There are definately short comings in all charities, and criticism is valueble to improve them.
You might want to look at the Professional bodies that work for the conditions and remuneration of their members.
Doctors are expert at questioning foriegn qualifications as a means of excluding people from their profession in NZ (unless your British).

Mother Teresa exists in two paradigms, hers as sacrifice and service, the other being the Indian Caste system and resulting conversions.
Recently she has been criticised for only tending to the dying and not improving the lives of the living. Which I haven't heard said about any other hospice.

You seriously don't see any good being done by the Sallys, Methodist Mission, and St Vinnys?
