  • BenWilson,

If there is any such thing as objective beauty, then there are attractive and unattractive penises. And certainly that is the case subjectively. But I haven't explored it too deeply - it seems that men most focus on the basic size of it - you don't hear of too much "Small dick porn", although some have claimed that the deliberate blurring that occurs in most Japanese porn indicates that they've got something to hide.

Do those people have an explanation for the use of the blurring in anime? Just curious.

  • Jeremy Eade,

Most of my penis observations are from Ben Elton who questioned whether the original design plans were the best, from a design point of view I agree with him.

I've was shown too much porn as a young 'un, not my fault, but I can't remember anyone giving me a mag promoting its penis photos.

  • Jeremy Eade,

Whatever floats your boat... but I prefer it on the inside of someone else's body... :)

Well you'll need some blood for that :)

    Since you asked:

This is a consequence of a 1907 Japanese censorship law ("Article 175") which was interpreted to forbid the depiction of pubic hair as well as genitals.

It's all part of the big cover up. They had to do it for anime, for consistency, otherwise it would make the shame even more obvious! Even for 30 foot long tentacle-dick monsters.

Naturally, it's a conspiracy theory. The real facts and figures are too blurry to prove anything.

That's just because it's not how homoeroticism works, my friend. Man, sometimes I feel like I have to tell you guys everything.

  • Jackie Clark,

Penises not attractive? What are you people on about? I'm with Ben, it's all subjective. And what a shame it is that men can't compliment other men on their penises. I have been known to praise a woman's breasts - I mean, come on, some tits are just fabulous.

  • giovanni tiso,

That's so tits and penises though. I mean have you ever complimented another woman on her vulva?

I believe the female form is mindfucking, the male form...jeez , i leave that admiration to ladies and gay men. You guys are so creative, thank you.

I don't know - the fact that it's kept a bit of a mystery gives everyone an even chance. It would be pretty slack if you became known as "Mr Ugly Penis".

Nah, c'mon man, don't tell me you wouldn't like to be more buff. If so, it means you appreciate what buff is.

Now there is an idea but I can't see it getting much traction. I wonder what criteria we could use--length, girth, heft, rate of usage, a cheerful grin? As in My, you have a big one there. Does it get out very often? Probably the only activity which has ever got close to such a possibility has been height-peeing contests.

  • giovanni tiso,

At this point I should come right out and reveal that a friend of mine in high school was complimented on his penis by the rest of us guys so often it became in fact part of his name. He's now a politician, but I don't mean that in a satirical way.

  • Jackie Clark,

Oh, I love that. And now I'm going to bed to dream of penises. Or something. Actually, probably not.

I'd like to be fit and have less fat because I find weight tiring but it's not an erotic concept. Gio is a dirty euro, I don't think I have to be schooled by his boyhood adventures.

  • BenWilson,

Sure, sure. So the fact that women would possibly also find you more attractive if you were "fit and less fat" hasn't got anything to do with it?

It's clear that at this point, I must link to Ricky Gervais' cameo in Louie.

At precisely three minutes, the penile humiliation begins.

  • Jeremy Eade,

I think keeping trim brings its own vanities but if ladies like it , it's a double winner.

Which men do you find erotic?
