    "that lovely young man"

What? I don't even... umm, thanks.

And then afterwards sensually reached down to be all lover-man … yow. Cold bath, apparently.

A male acquaintance of mine once went to the toilet shortly after making curry with extra-hot chilli powder from Moshim's, without washing his hands first. The other big mistake, which I have made, is taking out contacts. Just....don't.

  • Islander, in reply to Lucy Stewart,

    O hell yes!
I did that the first time I had chopped up chillis.
Contact lens wearers get used to dust-under-lens syndrome, but this was arrgh. With several exclamation marks. And it didnt stop for quite some time-

  • Kris V, in reply to Russell Brown,

MW: Hey, I read somewhere that “people who don’t have houses aren’t allowed to pay for drinks”. I know you _do_ have a house, but still, I was following the spirit of the rule.

RB: Actually, yes. Now you mention it, that was an actual rule.

ooops... oh well, I've never been good with rules. If you manage to bring OGB down to Shakeytown anytime soon I'll take replacement drinks at any venue you can find open.

A great night, just what was needed. Unfortunately way too short a break... got back at 11pm Saturday night, then shifted house on Sunday. Still waiting for phone and internet to be hooked up (another week or so yet...anyone would think there'd been a disaster or summit) but surviving on limited mobile-based services in the meantime.

Would love to swap cooking ideas for fish but I never go beyond shark 'n' taties, while me and chillis stay well clear of each other ;)
    as you were...

  • Amy Gale,

I will be in NZ in November and if I don't get to meet PASers and eat chips and drink beer I will cry.

I am sure that can be arranged, Amy. Just let the Designated Social Co-ordinator (TM) know - that would be Russell - your dates!

  • Jolisa,

Chiming in belatedly on the original subject: You know that feeling of disappointment, when you discover that everyone was actually way smarter and better-looking in your imagination than they turn out to be in real life?

    Me neither.

It was delightful to meet so many of you in person. What a splendid bunch!

    (Hope I haven't just re-proven Giovanni's point.)

When I first met PAS' Graeme in person at a Welly Twitter get-together, he was a lot younger than his name and legal savvy implied.

I find that everything proves a point I made at some time or other.

  • giovanni tiso,

(On that subject I must say I was quite struck by how Craig in person is even more Craig than he is online - if that makes any sense. And I mean it strictly as a compliment.)
