inflexibility lead to neurosis
true true, but then too much flexibility of the mind leads to psychosis. i vote for absence of mind as the best path to sanity... or at least happiness.
ron old mate, i disagree that others only agree, don't you agree? you have to agree that some people disagree

I am too busy giggling at the blutters proudly announcing that they love the CoC
-
And just to curry it up, Unconscious Fear Of Death, hehhe.
It is the conscious fear of unconscious fear of death that is the real problem.
There will always be arseholes in life, trying to stop them using the interweb is a good aim but fruitless. And as Russell points out, everyones got a button, somewhere everyone goes off the edge sometime. A forum that I go to has strong moderation and people get banned, permanently, quite regularly. Now a group of the banned and some who bravely keep their tempers when confronted with facts, have set up a rival board that is virtually unmoderated. Unfortunately it is the lamest, saddest place in the world where whining neo-cons gather to... whine. perhaps an alternate interweb is needed.

"I've got a CoC the size of a croc."
Do I get a badge for that? Hey Tim!
-
i think you'll need a badger for that Juha

real-life examples of that subject that causes you to godwin a thread seriously push me over the edge.
i fricking hate those guys...
and CoC... you should deal with the public service one. it's great and sensible. seriously. but... there is some annoyance that many a blogger is castrated by it.
that said, there's plenty of reason not to have the public service descend into a kiwiblog.

merc,
Here's my nutter blutter theory, maybe, just maybe, the interweb is quickening the Collective Unconscious, you know, like the more angry blutters, trolls, what-have-you post that wankery out there, it reduces the wankery quotient and more quickly, like the inverse of global warming, or the right way round even, see! I feel better already and I'm still grappling with the Interweb Butterfly affect that when we all went posty on Number 9, my neighbour at Number 9 in my street passes away. Also, while I'm at Band Camp,
Anyone read Teillhard de Chardin and his thoughts on the Noosphere? OK, now I will go back to normal transmission. -
THEATRE!
-
it IS The Quickening, the Trinity of Trinities, the Vanilla Essence of Deception, the Banned Camps.
i feel some theatre tourettes coming on... -
merc,
Damn you Che, I experiment with a different persona to demonstrate my theory of flexibily...nah you got me, just jivin', I'm naming you to the kiwiblutters anyway.
-
merc,

-

-

Everyone's a Winner!
Ralphie. -
This reminds me of working the nightshift years ago with a friend at a well, international rescue service in Europe. No, really. I'm not making it up.
Anyway, the various legations in Europe used at the time, and perhaps still do, telex to communicate in an official fashion.
Roundabout 3am, my red-eyed mate decides it is time to practice telexing, because they're pretty weird dinosaurs from the pre-internet era.
He sits down in front of the terminal and types:
CHING CHONG I HAVE A LONG DONG
and looks up in the manual how to send it, thinking the machine was in practice session mode.
It wasn't. In the morning an outraged embassy official calls up the shift manager and demands an explanation for the telex sent during the night. Embarrassed meetings ensue, apologies are forwarded and discipline is meted out, but my friend's employment survives the crisis luckily.
Bugger, I've gone off topic now.

Ralphie and Hot Chocolate
-
merc,
Jebus Riddley, you're my son, it's always back to The Chocolate...
-
merc,
And Juha, you must go round the pole in the same direction as the rest of us, or you will become a Bad Machine.
-
he he that's a good one. my dad once got a call from General Freiberg when he was a comms operator.
"Hello, General Frieberg here..."
"Yeah, and I'm the Queen of Sheeba, now bugger off"
that produced a bit of embarrasment too.that wasn't Thunderbirds International Rescue per chance was it? i know they don't have much of a sense of humour, especially Brains and Virgil.
-
merc,
One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest.
Arg, you made me post again, 446, least I'm off 445 (= 13) the number of the beast, or is it? -
wait til you get to 666 Dark Father
-
merc,
Angels are bright still, though the brightest fell.
But tell me, tell me, how do you know
that he lost any of his brightness in falling?
He only fell out of your ken, you orthodox angels,
you dull angels, tarnished with centuries of conventionality.
DH Lawrence. -
nice.
Sinistra Seraphim respond well to a good pollishing cloth. -
No, not the Thunderbirds... that would've been legendary.
Post your response…
