Can Gio's imagination make me taller and more generally awe-inspiring between now and the next thing? I'm counting on you, man.

Honestly, I already prefer you to Leggy Supermodel Danielle. She's so up herself.

p, I'm deleting your posts. You can't play victim when it's you picking the fights. Perhaps you could just leave us alone with our smugness.

You have trouble with Danielle, though, right? That's why I'm not allowed to "meet" her.

Yes, we have encountered some problems with that active. She seems to break programming.

That's nothing, apparently you invented all of Auckland as well.

I think you'll find that Gio believes Auckland doesn't actually exist.

A list of anecdotal evidence on a web page does not hit my joy button though.
    http://www.kingslandosteopaths.co.nz/index.htm

I believe they're called customer testimonials and are hardly unusual on the website of any kind of private practice (one of them is from a former athlete I do some work with). That's actually the practice I go to. Nice people. Kristi is the former Olympic cyclist I mentioned.

Click the first comment on Frozen Shoulder and check out a few of the replies. I hoped it was not a real osteopaths learning site but incredibly, a couple of pages into the replies I found Simeon Neil-Asher replying to a few of the questions which makes me even more suspicious that it is real.

Woah on the conspiracy theory! It's quite obviously a social site for British osteopaths -- I can't imagine that anyone would go to the trouble of creating 700 personas and having them talk so extensively. And it would be odd if it were a creation of Niels-Asher, given that he only joined in January and his arrival prompted talk of his marketing style.

I'm not making any claims for the guy -- I'd never heard of him until yesterday. I just noted that he got a small study published in what seems to be a reputable, peer-reviewed journal.

But there's one interesting thing on the site -- a members' poll about the British Chiropractic Association's libel suit against Simon Singh, in which some idiot judge found merit.

Indeed. So we can store their emergency personal-use backups for them in case of very large fire.

Exactly. Look what happened in The Great Fire of London:

Everybody had thought St. Paul's Cathedral an absolute refuge, with its thick stone walls and natural firebreak in the form of a wide, empty surrounding plaza. It had been crammed full of rescued goods and its crypt filled with the tightly packed stocks of the printers and booksellers in adjoining Paternoster Row. However, in an enormous stroke of bad luck the building was covered in wooden scaffolding, undergoing piecemeal restoration by a then-relatively unknown Christopher Wren. The scaffolding caught fire on Tuesday night. Leaving school, young William Taswell stood on Westminster Stairs a mile away and watched as the flames crept round the cathedral and the burning scaffolding ignited the timbered roof beams. Within half an hour, the lead roof was melting, and the books and papers in the crypt caught with a roar. "The stones of Paul's flew like grenados, the melting lead running down the streets in a stream, and the very pavements glowing with fiery redness, so as no horse, nor man, was able to tread on them", reported Evelyn in his diary. The cathedral was quickly a ruin.

Imagine if there was a fire now and we lost everything. It'd be terrible.

  • Up Front: I Love it When a Plan Comes Together,

Yesterday the homosexual spirit was Talisker, at the Matterhorn.

    (I sometimes wonder if I'm a leetle bit butch-er than I think I am).

You're right. At the least, you should limit yourself to Speysides, or your voice will get lower or something.

    Russ,
    I was trolling and dived in at the deepish end;
    Regards.

No worries. You did have a point.

But if you ever do spy 'The World's Biggest Chinese Restaurant', you should try and see it.

Dyan, thank you very much indeed. That's really instructive. Notes 2 and 3 we're both very conscious of, but as for number 1 - oral hygiene and its bearing on your overall health - I, at least, was quite unaware. I'll show this to Karren now.

Thanks seconded by me. That was good.

And Dyan, if there was any more specialist knowledge Paul cared to offer, that would be most welcome. I'm conscious that physiotherapy hasn't been depicted positively in this thread, and also wary of generalising my own brief, unsatisfactory experience of it.
