  • Speaker: KICK IT! The Highest Mountain,…,

couldn't sleep a wink after that - holy hell, what a game. could not believe our composure at the back, whatever pep talk Nelsen gives to the young fullas a Reid and Smith needs to be bottled.

damn, so jealous of the guys over their watching and waving their shirts.

and Sofia, loved the who's your mumma line.

geoff, not so fond of the need to make any kind of comparison with the ABs.

my hope now is that Paraguay see they only need a draw and go into it at something less than full clip. they'll be far more dangerous up front.

oh and Fallon really needs do something about his jumping style - he's a red card waiting to happen.

and I'd like to see more of Wood. good olde style front man, just wish he had a left foot for that late strike.

    roll on Friday.

I sense some resistence to my set of rock-based sanctions...never mind, it's time will come.

Fine and dandy, as long as that book is made out of rocks.

I'd apply a similar regime to those feigning injury in the outfield, although that would probably involve the administering of a swift kick to the goolies along with the requirement that they must play the next three matches wearing a pair of those glasses with a false nose and moustache attached.

all they need to do is identify the next diver by what ever means necessary, then pick him up, march him to the centre circle, bang him on the head with a rock, and bury him where he lands.

    no more diving.

cool, but I think I'll stick with pronouncing tomato my way.

I'm liking how Spain are now blaming their loss on a babe reporter who was parked on the sidelines.

and hell yeah, I'd swap Ballack's sub-pah Zidane impression for that Ouzo bloke any day - minus the hapless dive in the first half though. looking forward to seeing if the Germans can back that performance up.

Giovanni - what is your faith in Mexico and Uruguay based on?

otherwise I agree that Mexico still has more to play for in their last pool match. and they seem to lost some of the brittleness they usually exhibit.

I'd love to rate RSA a chance as any party has a greater buzz if the hosts are still alive, but I suspect they're done. which could mean we get to hear some singing in the next round...

yep, if Slovakia showed Italy anything it's that we really struggle when the game speeds up. If they run at us and get their passing game going I'm worried we'll get steamrolled.
Not entirely certain if predictions of a tepid 0-0 draw btwn Mexico and Uruguay will come to pass. While that would ensure both would go thru they also know that the 2nd place team from their group will then play Argentina. I guess it'll depend on whether the think just making the 2nd round will make their campaigns a success.
I expect/ hope Spain will bounce back with a vengence. While upsets are grand I prefer watching the big guns in the later rounds. I really don't want a repeat of the Spain/ South Korea cock-up from the last cup.
And hell yeah, I'd love to hear some singing. As it is I'm tuning the background out as static. Has there been a more pointless form of barracking?

how can you possibly say Elliot was terrible? when was the last time we had anyone stand up in central midfield and look like he has the remotest idea of what he's doing?
he obviously ain't Zidane, but he looked for work, made himself available and did a good enough job to attract some rather nasty hacks.

I don't think he has anything to be embarrassed about.

that our defenders stood out should be no surprise at this level. we are what we are...minnows.
