What ever happened to the grubber?

ha.. they can't even catch it when it's passed into their bread basket, you reckon they'd be able to collect a bobbling ball on the ground on the run ?

Yes. And a friend of mine also did a screen grab that showed Ross wasn't offside before the ball came out either. That was a truly awful decision.

That would be good to see as from what I saw on the telly it was a little inconclusive where he was when the ball came out. It was clearly out of the ruck though when he hacked at it.

I don't really think it was the winning and losing of the game though.

Did Rockokoko think he was in the NRL trying to run that one out from the deadball ?

  • Speaker: Remembering the Chartists,

in essence what your family is doing is trying to avoid death duties

With respect I think that's rubbish, trusts are used for many things. For example to ensure that your child's gold digging spouse cannot get hold of some family property

Not everyone who set's up a trust is trying to avoid tax (although many are)

Aparently one of the best ways to avoid gift duty from your Lotto win is buy the tickets from your Family trust bank account each week ;-)

  • Speaker: Remembering the Chartists,

And if you earn more, you're by definition 'better', right?

No, but it you are 'better' you quite possibly deserve to earn more.

With all due respect, I don't believe our best and brightest are the majority in parliament.

    correct

  • Speaker: Remembering the Chartists,

But if I moved to Auckland ...

On a 3 year fixed term contract ?

But if asked the company to pay the mortgage on my new family home then they'd laugh in my face. That's just not how it works.

True, but they may give you an accomodation allowance that you could spend as you saw fit depending on you family circumstances.

still leaves an amount of money for living a personal lifestyle that the average kiwi

I think one of the poster's points though was that we don't want the average kiwi running the country we want the best and brightest.

Have to agree with Russell though, there's something a bit iffy about the English rule change. It's looking a bit like Dan Carter sabbatical in France rule.

  • Hard News: Deja Vu,

I don't the ministers live in state owned houses, as there second residence. That would leave a better taste in the public mouth, even if it where inefficient.

He should be in Vogel house but there is a squatter in there at the moment according to David Farrar and then the problem would not exist, although arguably costing the taxpayer more

    You're kidding, right?

Yes, my tongue was firmly in my cheek.

I would say though that having 6 kids does add a little weight to English's argument about renting and having to shift twice and not wanting to go through it again.

It can't be that easy to find accomodation suitable for a cabinet minister/family of eight in Wallytown.

  • Hard News: Deja Vu,

where's the edvidence that without the $50k "rent" subsidy the English family would be unable to stay together due to the hardship of surviving on a mere $276k p.a. + Mary's GP income?

    6 kids

Haven't you just got yourself into the classic buy COTS vs build argument with computer systems.

You've invested so much intellectual capital and $$ into building your bespoke CMS and it fits like a glove to your requirements that it becomes difficult to make the leap to a COTS solution ?

Try pressing Command and + or ++ or +++. Oh that's right, you need a Mac first.

Or the Ctrl key and the mouse wheel...

They've thought of everything those Microsoft people ;-)

And stop closing your eyes on television

I think you might be being a little harsh there Russell, he did seem to have some sort of medical condition thing going on wih that left eyelid.

No worse than the way Miriama Smith talks out the side of her mouth either and she's a paid professional broadcaster.

Regarding the Palm Oil thing, the guy from Cadbury's was claiming their Palm Oil is "sustainably sourced". Is that possible ? Bit like the Kwila decking issue ? How would the consumer "really" know.
