But the get across spokesman didn't seem very well prepared - the first question 'what gives you the right to break the law and disrupt people's days' wasn't dealt with well at all.

Borrowing one of David Bain's jumpers wasn't the best idea either.

Henry was hopeless, totally concentrating on the "civil disobedience" angle instead of the issue they were actually protesting about.

Just out of interest to anyone who was there, what was the ratio of walkers to cyclists ? The pictures I've see don't have a large number of cyclists in them.

I wonder whether concentrating on the "lets have a walkway across the bridge" angle would be better than "lets have a cycleway across the bridge" angle in terms of garnering public support.

Cyclists can be polarising at the best of times.

I think the tourism/day tripper angle might be better than the commuter angle. Esp. with Prime Minister as Tourism Minister.

  • Speaker: Grand Theft Auckland,

The government's intention to get rid of MMP arises from the same source. Democracy prevents these procedural pirates from seizing assets and milking us for our cash. So democracy is the enemy.

Hasn't Key said there'll be a referendum on MMP in 2011, what's undemocratic about that ?

And there is of course the argument that MMP is one of the least democratic systems with minor parties wielding power beyond their mandates and parties deciding their "lists" not the voters. But lets not open that can of worms right now.

Those poor people, turned into terrible criminals by the nasty bank.

I fear the GL Community centre location may get outgrown rapidly, there'll be a lot of enthusiasm for it.

The recent Kraftbombs held there have been really popular and the centre location barely copes.

One of the local school grounds might be a better option maybe ?

Gareth - the market's not starting until September ? Don't wander over there this weekend looking for some brussel sprouts.

You'll need to stick to Avondale Markets for while yet.

Telecom seem to be applying the same priority to answering the ffunnell questions as they do to answering the Xtra support line.

Is there any sort of automation behind it or is it just being re-directed to their call centre staff to answer when they have down time between calls ?

Not a good look for a network where they are making a big fuss about the "speed"

You forgot to budget for the green paint.

and the guy from the council with the video camera filming anyone who strays into the green, whilst parking his council car in the middle of it ;-)

Part of that ffunnell banner ad looks suspiciously like a Richard Killeen artwork to me
