Lunarian...
Luna landscape
A trigger of Proustian proportions... Reminds me of driving to the North Shore and of Martin Sharp - who you'll all remember as the Australian Pop Artist who did the Oz magazine graphics, Posters, Cream & Ginger Baker album covers (as well as writing the lyrics for Cream's Tales of Brave Ulyssses ) and much more, including being the '70s redesigner of Luna Park - here's his '90s 'Lest we forget' Poster

Edgy caution...
It’s a very sad approach to education, very stifling.
Wait till they realise that all they need to do is leave the kids with a stack of Teach-Yourself-DVDs and access to a few relevant websites, plus a security guard to keep an eye on them, they'll save a fortune!
I can only assume the current Government is hellbent on keeping future generations thick and poor so they won't realise the legacy that's been foisted upon them.... -

So who are the young political cartoonists now?
With mainstream print options dying out, I guess they are either doing low circulation zines, blogs or ‘throwing up’ wall art – I have seen some pretty incisive stencil pieces over recent years.
Might be a niche for Public Address, an open online gallery….
PA-rody! We have takeoff! Welcome to the scorn fields…<added> The print edition of the Walkley Magazine carries some great cartoons/editorial illustrations (as well intelligent coverage of Australian and NZ media) - here's some cartoons from their online presence - worth a poke around the site...
I still miss Nation Review though... -

Grinderman Blues....
The same ideas, in less high-minded form, are behind Laws’ poisonous talk about “ferals” and his 2009 proposal to sterilise the underclass.
Yes, ya have to be careful with that axe, eugenics...

Pizza de resistance...
I had pretty much given up on pizzas (caught a snippet on Hell Pizzas on TV last night which reinforced all the reasons I'd never even tried going there - meathead lovers pizzas!) - but I digress...
The finest (thin base) pizzas in Chchch are to be found at The Mediterranean Food Company in Tuam St, opposite The Star (between Barbadoes and Fitzgerald) also purveyors of all fine packaged and Deli foods and wines from that region,. Give yourself a treat.... -
