  • Hard News: About Arie, in reply to Graeme Edgeler,

And if the offence is actually committed, a person who incited or counselled someone to commit it is guilty of the offence itself as a party to the offence (and liable for the full sentence).

... /me ponders the possibility of the Police Minister serving time for being party to prison rape...

  • Hard News: Because it's about time we…, in reply to Paul Williams,

Campos... nice. I used to live just a bit further down the road in St Peters. Central Sydney is a bit of a crap shoot for good coffee though, a lot of the little places round town make abysmal coffee even when the food's fine.

Wow, you can rustle up a whole post before I could even manage a suitably snarky tweet. Even Hamilton had a good late night cafe culture 15 years ago, long before Starbucks showed up here.

And a big yes to installing small commercial machines at home, they're wonderful. We've got a refurbed Carimali Uno that's paid for itself easily by now.

  • Muse: The High Aesthetic Line,

Star Wars, which I saw at the Carlton in Hamilton when I was 7-ish, was great. But one of my all time top childhood memories is being taken to see the Empire Strikes Back at the Odeon in Leicester Square, London. Circle tickets and 70mm is inclined to leave quite an impression on a young lad! I've still got the ticket and some sort of promotional magazine from it here somewhere.

  • Cracker: Gimme Shelter,

I didn't get my pockets checked and didn't have any hassle all day. That said, I had a really lazy day and mostly just sat in the main stands until giggling at Rammstein got tired and we were too wet and cold, we couldn't get near the tent so we headed home.

I couldn't be bothered queuing to buy beer and the food options were all horrible so I didn't do much of that either. The coffee, as seems to be usual at the BDO, was fantastic. Well done whoever is in charge of that!

Ah OK, ta Ben, disabling Typekit has made things a hell of a lot better font-wise.

Overall I like the new look, but the post heading and people's-names font is really pixellated and nasty looking here (Windows Vista, latest Firefox) and there's something extremely dodgy going on with the line spacing in this text box - the tops of several letters are being clipped.
