  • Cracker: Choons,

Yep the lineup for the next few months looks superb!

(P.S. can it please be "pedalling"?)

  • Hard News: The GST Punt,

Gah! We're not going to "catch up to Australia" by adopting bits of their shitheaded tax system. Keep it really simple and straightforward and let's not get into exempting arbitrary things.

  • Voting Local 2010,

As usual on the North Shore there seem to be too many property developers and old blokes with the silver hair, dark blue jacket and shiny buttons photo. Once you drop them from the running, along with anyone even tangentially responsible for the current mess, the obvious lunatics and the touchy-feely-ultimately-hopeless types it's looking a bit thin on the ground.

  • Field Theory: Shambeerla at Beervana,

I drove down from Auckland for Beervana, and it was totally worth it. I loved 8 Wired's Hopwired, and the Arrowtown folks Wee Heavy. And the whole day, really. Would go again.

  • Hard News: Public Address: Technical Profile,

I would have been one of the HTC Android jobbies for sure - and also not logged in, because I would have been clicking through from an RSS reader to read the article/comments but not bothering to type a response from there.

Looks lovely on handheld BTW, very readable.

  • Hard News: Fear, authority and ... Judy Bailey?,

Ann-Margret singing 'Saturday Night' with the Bay City Rollers in front of an audience of hyped-up pensioners some time in the 70s.

Gold! The old dear knitting furiously away at about 1:30 is wonderful :)

  • Speaker: KICK IT! End of Act One,

Does anyone else think the South African goalkeeper was a little hard done by? Yellow card, sure, penalty OK, but a red AND a penalty, for that? Really?

  • Speaker: KICK IT! Vuvuzelas and Jambulanis,

I didn't realise all the All Whites games are live on TV One.

    Thank goodness for that.

And if Australia/Germany on TVNZ7 the other day is anything to go by it'll be free of all that worthless screen clutter such as, oh, the score and how many minutes have flown by. I ended up watching the slightly blurrier but much more informative Sky coverage.
