I think the idea is that the text posted with a photo is as a 'Caption'.
I don't believe that's how we've been using it though. There are also accessibility considerations but I won't even go there.
And ta to Cactusfolk for fixing the file extension problem.

Anyone want to see more of the students hanging off the Auckland Uni buildings?
for drinking horn nostagia purposes?

No, I agree. But remembering this was a feature opened up mainly for the Chimney Book posts, which were generally posted without much text, it is adapting to this new situation quite well I thought.
Also, email me if you like. Happy to discuss.

Photo posting fail on my part - I seem to have a grey stripe across the photo - any sage advice?

I assume this isn't all of the photo then? I don't know about sage, but this looks like a partially uploaded file. If you happened to refresh page during the loading, that could happen.

Although Hebe seems to have reached levels that I can hear from here.
"Twas the sound of snoring... Reason: My old Canon S70 (much mourned) gave jpeg lowercase extensions. The new fancy Fuji something-or-other with a huuge zoom (23mm to 425 ish) put the jpeg extension in uppercase (it does a good shot but I'm yet to be totally convinced).
Hey, I'm still just thrilled everyone is using it.
It's freaking wonderful; I'm hooked; puts PA into another dimension of goodness. Promise I won't post the baby photos, though if Ian Dalziel can put up a cat pic...

I'm with Karen and Lilith, film FTW! One lab left in Wellington that processes E6 but even they digiprint all the film they process. Not that I've completely abandoned my DSLR, the price of which forced me to take classes at adult ed to learn, finally, how to use my camera on manual. But having learnt, I promptly decided I preferred B&W film. And then the current government cut funding for adult education and the darkroom classes at Wellington High School's Community Education Centre folded. Boo, hiss!
Anyway, here's kite surfer at Waikanae from a couple of years back.

I've no idea if it's feasible, but in the 'suggestions for improvement' category, can I ask if it's possible for the site to give a visual indication of progress with uploading the attachment, so we know when to click 'post' without losing half our image file? Cheers.
