The feathers are bad luck in some circles.

the you're so vane dept...feather : any of the flat appendages growing from a bird's skin and forming its plumage, consisting of a partly hollow horny shaft fringed with vanes of barbs.
sounds remarkably like cocksmen of all species...

What a very beautiful specimen. A rescue dog, too, by the look of the cut ears.

The guy with him, was friendly too, just not as pretty. Bobby on the trampoline with Stella few photos back had been rescued by the SPCA. Someone had tried to drown the litter by throwing them down a drain when they were young. The boy got a lotta love and he turned out great although still had a bit of attitude. Couldn’t blame him really. He was my friends dog, but Stella spent much of her life with him.
I like mutts. The runts of the litter. They have built in diet plans. They store food for the rainy day. They seem overly appreciative that they are given attention. Well Stell is like that. She gives her food away . Birds, cats, other male dogs :)

I am anthropomorphising here but how would that go down in the human world ?
Having your face on all your parties election hoardings springs to mind.

I agree, but it's wonderful to have 20+ versions to chose from. And the the room is incredible.

At UMO on Saturday there were several hipsters in shorts. I'm reliably informed (hi BG) they best qualify with no socks, ankle socks or calf tattoos. I'm so behind the times.

This is somewhere in Rotorua.
Champagne Pool, Waiotapu. I have pics of it somewhere, which I seem not to have scanned...

I remember watching someone's pair of peafowl at Okains Bay. The gent had his tail spread and was rotating with it like a demented satellite dish. The lady showed no interest whatsoever, and busied herself with scratching and pecking in the dust.
