Your bees are amazing. I especially like the bumble. We have one who seems to come back every year. He is huge: his name is "the Great Bee".

I'm really pleased that a swan plant has grown up in front of our bedroom deck and it means once I'm fit again I can get some good images. There is much to study with the natives around the property. In time.......

I'd just like to put up a shot t'other achieved a while back, probably not the first time but because this is about getting close, this is pretty close. I like it.

Easier to photograph than bees…..

As close as I’ve managed to get to the ants, so far. I count at least four, perhaps a fifth but it’s hard to tell. The wee one asked what the ants were eating, but I couldn’t see, and her eyesight is much better than mine. What do ants do on flowers?
And up close-ish to two rabbits on the feet of a third. "没穿反了" (méi chuān fǎn le/I didn't put them on the wrong way round), she insisted, until I showed her the photo, then she quietly swapped them over.

What do ants do on flowers?
They eat the honeydew secreted by the aphids. They might to other things, but that's the one I know about.

They farm aphids don't they? -
Well, I certainly couldn't see any aphids, but there was definitely something about those flowers to get those ants all excited.

There they are Chris! Big fatties in lower left corner. And the white things along the edge of the leaf look like they are old skins of aphids. (that really is quite some phone!)
