No need for infrared flash, infrared film or infrared point and shoot here.

    Still winter. Still dusk.

I think you could have used the new add and remove feature to fix that, but anyway, I waved my magic wand.

Stars overwhelm - when you see them without other light-distraction-
remind us of how very small we are (and how tiny our home-)

Heh, I even have star gazing loungers too. They are sun loungers by summer, star gazing by winter. :))

Love ’em – and the general gazing ambience!

(Mind you, if you lounged outside here tonight =-2 C at the moment = you’d stand a fair bloody chance of being dead apopo- but the stars are piercingly clear and the night -so still…):)

Oh, I’m missing our view up there already, but we have now got another view which is the beginnings of great things. Not quite the Higgs Boson, but we have a direction nonetheless. :)

  • Islander, in reply to Sofie Bribiesca,

When anybody was putting in a longdrop at Big O (we are talking nearly 40years plus ago) we'd wait for the Harbour board to come to reassess the wharf-piles - with the pile-drill - a leetle bit of beer & sweet-talking = really good long drop!

    the pile-drill

I was so glad we could borrow a post-hole digger when we needed a long-drop after the quake. Digging a deep hole with a spade is jolly difficult!

Jackson could do a good trade waving magic wands for long-drop diggers : )

The magic wand up north really is as Islander says, a few beers and ta da! Augers can be hired now too, which can require a few beers also , if you want friends to help operate the dammed thing. Our septic tank was a bit bigger however. That required making use of the already hired digger and eventually if one digs enough holes ,it's er cheap, really it is. ;)

I can't decide whether to take that as a compliment or a dig. I'll assume the former until you fill me in. Wait, what?

Compliment of course! But what a good opportunity for more long-drop references : )

As for Sofie's septic tank - sounds like she had the right team of wand wavers.
