Moz, in reply to
that is technically a tricycle, with all the amazing performance characteristics that entails.
I wonder whether it leans, though. That would be sensible, especially because bikes back then were often not very strong. Otherwise the stability would be negligible.

Not having any eggs while half way through making muffins, and the electric car having just started charging, was enough incentive to get me off on my first ever Quax. Literally, dusted the cobwebs off my 1988 Healing Skylark, pumped the tyres up, and headed off to the very Fruit World that was in this article. Still no bike racks, but I parked by the front door so a bit of the bike was visible from within the shop, and didn't bother with the lock. Successfully fit all the fruit and veges in, but I had to split the bunch of bananas between the drink bottle holders. Could've been problematic if I'd bought anything more.

A pannier on the ass... or the beats of burden!
A little tricky packing them in, but pretty successful
Just add – https://www.pinterest.nz/ElectraBicycle/front-trays-racks-electra-accessories/?lp=true and I always tie two plastic shopping bags together (weight evenly distributed) and sling them over my shoulder, as temporary ‘saddlebags’ when biking or walking, stops things getting caught in the wheels, keeps the hands free and weight better spread without straining arms. (watch out for bag piercing corners and keep bottles to the front)

Poor old Mr. Quax has made the final Quaxing.
RIP, you were a fine middle distance runner and as an elected official contributed to civic society.
