Never thought Bedminster was that bad. But Hartcliffe or 'Artcliffe as the locals would say was right down the list with its white trash 'Bristow' City lager louts!

Man, they are getting hammered up there in Seddon
poor buggers, my heart goes out to them…++++1 I feel sick in the heart: it’s an indescribable form of mindfuck for Marlborough people, Nelson and Wellington people. I hurt for them, for me, for my family and friends. Beloved and I had planned to be at the Chch poetry night but it is important for us tonight to be with the ones we love.
@ChrisW: Posting that pome at 2.31pm: awful symmetry. Greg promises not to do it again.

Really top piece of writing Russell, I loved it.
All three members of The Clean are such vivid lovely people. Every New Zealander seems to have a great night out/yarn/tour with at least one member.
I had a really pleasant evening chatting with Hamish and my friend Andy Harris (who lives in Montauk, NY) out side the scene of a very messy CMJ event where we had just played. Somehow we ended up providing the backline for about 15 bands. I was the sober driver and had to stay awake and sober while everyone else in the band partied like James Belushi. Hamish and Andy kept me awake and sane until the 5am packout. Good sober conversation on a Brooklyn sidewalk for hours. I appreciated it as much as any of the excellent Clean gigs I have seen since first seeing them at Bodega about 15 years ago.

I feel terrible, but I was hunting for the 'like' link on that.

Awesome to see Martyn Bull (RIP) on drums for "Oncoming Day"
I grew up with Martin in Masterton and he has always been a talented musician taking out intercollegiate music competitions reguarly.
We used to go to his pad, smoke pot and he'd play his guitar to chill us out..
Sadly, he passed away at the age of 23 not long after this video actually and he bequethed Martin Phillips his leather jacket and the rest is Kiwi rock history..
'Love my leather jacket,Love my absent friend".. -

Indeed. I gather Chills drummers ever since have been challenged in following his drum part in that song.

gotta post this clip - the music's not my bag at all, but stick with the video, it's pretty cool...hurrah for Japan.
