Hey, let's watch the video for the above mentioned Exponents track "Like She Said"! Directed by Mark Tierney and Paul Casserly (aka Strawpeople), it was filmed at the emptied out Parnell Baths in winter and features a cast of music video weirdos (including a Dalmatian), shot in cool tones.

Chelsea Jade and Watercolours last night at Flagship.
Chelsea finished her short, sweet set with ‘Under’, which has started to sound really strong live.
One of the best things about a remix would be it lasting longer. I always get to the end of the song and want more.

Re: Spotify playlist - you need to subscribe and then you can add to the playlist
As for emails facebook alerts et al (David) - create a email rule and folder to file those pesky reminders out of sight or move to trash option... its not like spotify is unique in its need to tell you everything all the time via multiple channels so deal with it and move on
the ability to share for no dollars down is I think a wonderful thing - takes the luxury of ownership out of the equation, for not everyone wants to own nor collect files/formats but we universally all love music

Some thoughts I had while watching the video:
- Dave Dobbyn writes solid, quality songs that can withstand all manner of extremes.
- When would the neighbours have reached the stage when "Arrrgh! Make it stop!" becomes "You know, this is actually pretty fun. Pass the beers!"?
- Kids of today imagine the '90s was all neon MC Hammer pants, but it was really about loose fitting neutrals.
- This video is more cheering and uplifting than a dozen YouTube lolcat videos. -

No laughing here, those guys are great! The vocalist captures Dave's tone really well (slightly ropey high bits aside). And as for those Rickenbackers... I would be willing to do very embarrassing things for that bass, in particular.
Backyard gigs rule, as those who attended my recent 40th would surely attest.

Just imagine what would happen these days in that exact backyard - "Euh, I knoooow, well Shelly and Steve just paid $1.2 for the shack over the back fence, but it backs onto Farro, so yerrsssss... another coddled duck breast with pomegranate molasses and sauvignon reduction, anyone?"

theaudience HelpDesk anyone?? (cuz there's none there) ... I sign in using FaceBook then I get this 'Confirm Details' form, enter my deats and hit 'Register' - there's no other button to hit - and I'm told my email address is already registered with theaudience ... and round and round I go. Any clues what gives here? (same result in IE and Safari).

As I recall, he also did a very good ‘Born to Run’.
Fwiw, that’s Mark Peterson, ex Straitjacket Fits, on guitar. And the guy with the bass is Muzz, aka Mario Posa, relative of Peter Posa.

Well, he was wrong in one crucial aspect. People will be led, where they will.

It's not quite as well-stocked as Spotify, but Last.fm has a great feature in its 'Radio' options. You can listen to a mix of the artist of every song you've ever scrobbled, a selection of other artists similar to your scrobbled list, or (my favourite) a combination of the two. It's a great way to get to hear artists that are new to you (such as the severely underplayed Afu-Ra, or Robert Pollard's post Guided by Voices band, Boston Spaceships.)

Just to put a question a friend had over the weekend to the hive mind...
Said friend was a member of a minorly-iconic Flying Nun band a number of years ago. Given the joys of internet publishing, friend and ex-bandmates would love to post up some of their classic audio clips on a site like Bandcamp or Soundcloud (which would be better?)
Given the joys of copyright in this day and age, how vigorous is Warners likely to be about pursuing anyone who uploaded such audio clips? Or, probably preferably, how easy is it to reclaim copyright from the publisher? They haven't exactly been responsive to email enquiries - i.e. no response at all. While it makes no difference in terms of copyright, they are not intending to make money off these clips. The vinyl itself has been out of print a long time.
