  • TracyMac,

Bollocks, I forgot to include the money quote:

When the leaders of a major economy lapse into mysticism and come to believe they can accomplish things through their mental vibrations, without lifting a finger - then it's time to start thinking about going into subsistence farming on a remote compound in Idaho.

  • Patrick Xavier,

    On the other hand:

    18 November 2009:

Court liquidation: International leadership business operator Thake’s Insinclife (now Scarabetta) wound up

    Defendant: Scarabetta Ltd (ex-Insinclife Ltd)

    Directors: Graziella Thake, Kohimarama

    Applicant: Westpac Banking Corp

    Liquidators: Official Assignee

Other details: Insinclife changed its name on 13 October. Another application to wind the company up was withdrawn last October. Ms Thake called in insolvency practitioner Peter Jollands to argue her case in court, to no avail. Associate Judge Abbott said Westpac’s court action had been well known to her for more than a year and Inland Revenue also had an outstanding tax debt of $167,000 dating back to returns from 2006-08, which had increased by about $20,000 recently. In short, he said: “It seems abundantly clear that this defendant is insolvent and has been so for some time. Any investigation of the extent of these debts should be undertaken in the course of liquidation.” Insinclife’s website says its founder, Ms Thake, is a psychologist who has expanded her leadership & training programmes business around the world to Melbourne, Dubai, Malta, Colorado & Los Angeles. She’s a director of 2 companies which retain the Insinclife name – Insinclife Conscious Programs Global Academy Ltd & Insinclife Leadership Institute NZ Ltd.

  • Lilith __,

Social responsibility in New Zealand requires organisation and a centralised portal to avoid replication and increase contribution and awareness in ways that are both good for business and good for New Zealand’s development.

Just to be serious for a moment: on the planet I come from, social responsibility (in New Zealand as elsewhere!) requires people looking after each other. It doesn't require "visions" or "portals" (what is this, Stargate?) And I don't think anyone out there working in the community actually helping people will find any of this twinklyness helpful. What they might find helpful is money and more staff. Or am I being naïve?

  • Robyn Gallagher,

Am I right in summarising FOStR Nz as being like this?

"Hey, there's this thing called social responsiblity. But what is social responsibility? What does it taste like? If you rub it against nylon carpet, will it zap you with a little electrical shock? Is social responsibilty that stuff you found behind the hotwater cynlindar when you were having the ecowrap installed? Who knows!!! lolz!!! Let's form an organisation to find out! I'll start a Facebook group."

So, what's the 't' in FOStR Nz stand for?

    Timtams.

Before the aspersion are cast any further, I invite everyone who's on Facebook to see how many friends they have in common with Graziella Thake. I bet we all have at least one. (I do.)

  • Danielle,

Nope! However, she and I both enjoy the music of Justin Timberlake, so that's something.

  • Rich of Observationz,

I can't find the person, and the linked page is gone. Publicity shy?

Also, in the world of inaccurate precis, does "psychologist with Corrections" encompass "reading lots of psychology books while on jail on fraud charges"?

Also, paying your fucking taxes, an area Ms Thake does not seem to have regarded as a priority.

I know and respect two of the four trustees. I can't say what they think they're doing there.

No, there's a link to her personal page under the "Our People" tab on the FOStR NZ page.

Rich, which link was broken for you?

Wondering out loud if she would sneak through the SIS Momentum vetting system????

Talking out loud. No doubt. Given what has snuck through and been aired recently.

Fancy the HRC linking up with this thingy. Bizarre. Once might argue OUR rights have been flagrantly violated by the HRC allowing themselves to be hoodwinked by this claptrap.

    Totally socially irresponsible.

I have one Friend in common with her - a fellow I met at a tweet up over two years ago. I barely know him and I'm not sure why we're friends on Facebook, but he's one of those social media guru types, so it's probably what he does with everyone.

I'll be interested to hear. I know someone who knows Gabriella but I've never seen anything about what she does or believes. Wonder if Corrections are exposing inmates to Te Secret?

I tend to agree. There's a failure of standards there.

  • Patrick Xavier,

    According to the liquidator's report:

    CREDITORS
    Callplus Services Limited $2,779.70
    Duncan Cotterill Lawyers $684.00
    Inland Revenue Department $97,332.66
    Westpac $44,194.30
    Inland Revenue Department $72,043.98
    Busy Books Limited $3,358.13
The Liquidator visited the office/ premises of Scarabetta Limited to view and evaluate the office furniture. The office furniture consists of two desks, two leather couches, a book case, a printer and a small concrete water feature. The Liquidator has concluded that the furniture is of little value to be of benefit to creditors and will therefore disclaim interest in this asset. No further action to be taken.

But otherwise, you know, such promise.
