Oh, and sadly, the one group we haven't been able to do much for is smokers. There's no outdoor smoking area within the venue, so you'll have to climb out to the street for a fag.
Never mind ...

O M G - this sounds absolutely amazing, to the point where I'd bloody well fly to Auckland for the weekend if I didn't already have something on the Saturday morning.
Please oh please oh please say there'll be something of a similarly awesome calibre for Wellington. You know we good for that.
a preview of the forthcoming revamped Public Address website, courtesy of CactusLab.
A couple of weeks ago, I was lying in bed trying to get to sleep and I started mentally redesigning the PA website. So if my semi-dream comes true, we'll see the merging of PA System with front page PA.

Emily Perkins and Dylan Horrocks have been creating a comic-book "conversation" – a page a day, turn-about – about writing. They'll "perform" the conversation on stage, and I'll ask them some questions about it.
Somebody had seriously better be filming this. Argh!

Not until summer, sorry, but Wellington and Christchurch are on the list.

Dreams never lie.

Does that mean I'm finally going to meet you AND tell Emily Perkins and Dylan Horrocks they're wonderful? Must lay in extra supplies of mattress-sized squee pads...

3410,
It sounds great. Thanks to everyone involved for all the organisation.
Given that the theme is 'creative collaboration', will there be any system in place to connect attendees with each other to that end?

It was so sweet when I explained the concept to the two of them.
They were both all "Squee!! Huuuuuge fan!" about each other.

Yes. There'll be the optional name-tags again, and I'm thinking of a Public Address base station.

3410,
Cool.

I can't speak for Emily and Dylan, but yes, you will get to meet me in real life. The Smut Tour begins. :)

Argh damn... will be in the wrong country. Sounds fantastic.

Heel 'n' toe...
...drop-in parquet dancefloor and all -- in the main Wintergarden room. Bring your dancing shoes
But not your stilettoes - otherwise the parquet will turn into pick-up sticks!

We could set up a Skyview with a twitter feed... apparently Quentin from Pead PR was discussing it with Orcon earlier in the year so we'll see...

in an effort to merge my social media (and make sure my partner organises a baby sitter) I have created a facebook event!
remember to RSVP here though!

Given the venue I'm tempted to wear black tie.
-
Can you fly me back to Auckland for it? I can't DJ, but I will be very thankful.
Jealous of you all, will have to try and catch the December one in Wellington, I think.

And maybe I'll be able to get the RSS comments feed to work. (Did send an email to Cactuslab, didn't pursue the matter though)

If you don't wear anything else I'll you in for free.
-
My gosh, that is generous Russell,
I'd be happy to pay double... :) -
Damn & Blast. Will be overseas.

Very Excited. We are dealing, in our house at the mo, with a possible diagnosis of something nasty, I fear. Whatever it is, it ain't good news for my already invalided darling, so I know that in 2 weeks I will be needing a good blowing out of cobwebs. I am especially excited to be meeting Megan, and seeing all my favourite PAS people.

Woot.

You got something against bunny ears?

That's no good. No good at all. Many long-distance hugs until I get to hug you in person.
