I suppose it's a story, given that John Key has agreed he should have been informed; but a shock-horror lead? Hardly.

Ian Wishart is a prat but the cover art is just a stock photo from iStock.com. Nothing wrong with that as long as he paid the correct amount.
Don't want to hark back to swine flu too much either but, despite the panic reporting again (as discussed previously on PA), some interesting things have come out of it.
1. Tamiflu worked after only limited success against bird flu.
2. Speed of movement around the world of the strain. Imagine if it did kill people. That would be an impressive outbreak.
3. I did actually travel around the world quickly and relatively effectively, unlike the bird flu bug.
I'm sure that the reporters will be reaching for their millions as soon as the next bug comes along, despite this one being a fizzer. It will happen, it's just a matter of when. -

Sorry to hear about your cold Russell. I manage mostly to keep them away by sluicing my nostrils warm salty water as soon as I get that sore feeling at the back of my nose. You don't have to drown yourself. Just sniff it gently till you get some in your mouth. Oh this is a disgusting topic - sorry - but you seem to get a lot of colds.

That might be because the H5N1 virus that broke out a few year's back never actually managed the whole human-to-human transmission thing.

i, too, read the herbal sex remedy story and discovered it was complete nonsense, like much of the rest of the paper.
interestingly, the story didn't make it to the website - perhaps web editors were more sceptical than the subs who put the print edition together?

I see Gareth Morgan puts forward his views on global warning in the latest Listener. God, I am tired of seeing his articles there; he's as over-exposed there as Ralston is on Campbell Live.
