  • Craig Ranapia,

But until then, Dollhouse is only days away.

Until then, enjoy watching Fox do rude and horrible things to Joss Whedon's loving nurtured feminist street-cred by outsourcing the promotional work to Playboy.

And could Bones, House or Grey's Anatomy to introduce any more situational has-bian characters until the writers can prove they've been closer to a real, live lesbian/bisexual woman than a re-run of The L-Word? I've getting a disturbing insight into why women like Wanda Sykes aren't exactly rushing to come out in public.

  • Russell Brown,

I was working on getting Radiation down to the very bottom of the opening page of Public Address, but seeing as the blog at the bottom is ARD Fairburn from 2006, it’s not working out very well.

Oh, it's worse than that. He died in 1957 .

  • Emma Hart,

But until then, Dollhouse is only days away.

I have been adamantly refusing to believe in the existence of Dollhouse . I'll believe it when I see it. Which should be in about a week. And I shall await the blogs on how sexist it is with... 'pleasure' isn't quite the right word...

Oh go on, Bones is trying EVER so hard, sir. Yes they nailed the trait onto a character several series in via the ol' surprise ex-girlfriend, but at least they went to lengths to explain that a woman who has a relationship with a woman after a relationship with a man is NOT a lesbian. Also, they narrowly managed to avoid the 'bisexual woman must be promiscuous femme fatale' trap, so I'll take what I can get and pat them on their terribly earnest heads.

  • Danielle,

I can't work out why I watch Grey's Anatomy. It is, objectively, utter tosh. And not unashamed gutter-level tosh like Flavor of Love, but pretensions-to-quality tosh. I am slightly disturbed by my GA 'series link' on the MySky.

I have that feeling every time I happen to catch it when the other adult in the house is watching. Just why?

  • Kebabette,

Grey's - I knew I was right to be a non-watcher when I saw the ad with Sandra Oh getting impaled by an icicle. Jaysus, is it the Omen III?

At least Curb your enthusiasm is on to counteract the shite tv mojo. Larry David ... we loves you.

Hey, I'm having more than enough fun watching Whedon (very diplomatically) being grossed-out by the soft-pron marketing. But let's face it the whole premise of Dollhouse is on a very fine line between being an 'edgy' exploration of identity, power and all that other serious shite with added kick-ass girl action (which is where Whedon wants to go) and fanboy tissue-lubricant (if Fox gets its way). We shall see who wins...

I can't work out why I watch Grey's Anatomy. It is, objectively, utter tosh.

Of course it is, and I kind of enjoyed the utterly ridiculous first season on the level of super-campy hospital soaper. But a good rule of thumb is that when someone is fucking a ghost, and that's the least stupid thing going on, a shark has been jumped. More than once.

Oh go on, Bones is trying EVER so hard, sir.

And after the 'Silence of the Hams' serial killer storyline that petered out when they stopped putting acid in the writer's coffee machine, so they bloody should. But I'm just getting bored with Angela and Hudgins (still grieving about his broken bromance with a serial killer's apprentice); get them back together, or break them up for good in a way that doesn't make me cringe.

Oh, and David Boreanaz is wearing way too many clothes. Less is more, people.

  • Craig Ranapia,

Still, Emma does have a point: Angela is a damn sight less annoying than 'Thirteen' on House, or whatever crack-fuelled writer's retreat decided to upgrade Erica Hahn from a noxious sexist stereotype (frigid, ball-busting career-obsessed bitch) to a noxious homophobic one (frigid ball-busting dyke whose career is her closet).

  • Bob Munro,

Is the last season of The Wire coming?

TV2 usually run The Wire in the winter late at night, presumably so it can be recorded. It's quite a good service - e.g Martin Scorsese’s No Direction Home- all three and a half hours of it was on Sunday morning at 1.30am.

    Want!

Yeah, me too although... can somebody please explain it to me? I know they're all characters from The Wire, but presumably the list is a reference to something else, and I'm totally missing it.

It's a new twist on the 'John&Paul&Ringo&George' shirt, with many variants, famously worn by (among others) ?uestlove.

The last 3 seasons have run at 00:30-01:50-ish on Monday nights (ie Tuesday mornings), so may do again.

They were all members of the Barksdale organisation, at least.

His house just came back on the market. I don't know if that's a coincidence or not.

So I go to Wikipedia to find out about ?uestlove and there he is in a t shirt that says 'Strawberry Kiwi Baked'.

Still looking for one. I think the agents are Harcourts. The sign outside the house says they will be calling for tenders.

If Entertainment Weekly is to be believed, you're going to be seeing rather more of Mr B's body this season. Unless, of course, they stop at the bedroom door ...

Two things. One, hush up Mr Spoiler Man.

Two, the contrast in my attitudes to Bones and Dollhouse have me thinking about *glances round shiftily* opyright-cae.

I will wait for Bones. I know it will be played here and I'm prepared to wait to watch it. Net financial benefit to its makers from me? Approximately feck-all.

I will 'steal' Dollhouse. I believe that either it won't get played here, or it'll get solidly Firefly-ed. And I can't wait, cause I'm a big geek. Net financial benefit to Joss Whedon from me? The hundreds of bucks I've spent on DVDs of shows I had already seen when I bought them.
