  • Islander,

What a smug little trolly troll the van Bakel is-
I will take issue with one point:

"And further, if nothing's changed, can we make IT better; no!"

    O, but we are slowly making it better here in ANZ: the police no longer ignore a 'domestic'; people no longer give their kids hidings in public;
religious fundamentalists who advocate wife &/or child-beating are openly despised, and the younger generations *are* taking aboard the fact that "It's Not Okay" to be violent.

The Womens' Refuge movement has enabled many women & children to grow strong - and helped not a few males to understand, from their empowered families, that there are other ways for relationships to be than controlling via the bash-

having said this, I'll leave you to wiiter on by yourself.

  • Deborah,

Y'know what's really nice. We don't even need to call out the first XV to deal with Bakel's arrant nonsense.

Damned out of his own keyboard.

  • Paul Williams,

Thank you Paul, if you were ever more ashamed of your own sex I think perhaps re-orientation might be called for.

What a laughable retort Rob. If anything, an unwarranted attack first on Emma and then all of women... that might suggest you're a little lacking in confidence?

Damned out of his own keyboard.

    Indeed.

  • Danielle,

I am torn from the contemplation of my own ovaries and their magical mediocratising powers to note that Ahnold has cut all state funding for domestic violence shelters in the state of California.

    Rad.

  • Sacha,

I'm sure the private sector will step in immediately, freed from the shackles of state that previously inhibited them from providing that valued service.

Joe: If that's directed at me, thank you, sir. If you're suggesting I'm getting into that bullshit with Emma -- oh, granny knickers.

Joe: If that's directed at me, thank you, sir. If you're suggesting I'm getting into that bullshit with Emma . . .

To save you the trouble of guessing again, your image of the pork chop coat sparked a little Monday morning free association. I did wonder, though, if something a bit more caprine might have been appropriate, e.g. a sate kambing tutu.

  • Russell Brown,

Read it again. Welled up about halfway through.

The appeal's on again this year, folks.
