Speaker: Dancing with Dingoes, Part II, in reply to
Got any with those weird flavour buds? Only Lushus had them.
Don't think so, although have a White Crest Lime Pie Filling, which looks scarily green.
Oh, and thanks. ;-)

Boy.
Spent most of my childhood holidays on the East cape, and loved it. The film brought it all back, and reminded me of what you miss by being city bound for too long.

More jelly. This one is lushus.
From my retro box collection, containing original contents. Yes, I do have a collection of boxes containing ancient jelly crystals, among other things. So?

That's right. And can't have them knowing stuff I don't. Hmm, might already be too late for that.

Had some time to kill in St Lukes (metaphorically speaking) and Whitcoulls was having a 25% off sale. A helpful staff member and I hunted for ten minutes for Healey's Guardian of the Dead, which they apparently had two of, but they must have been hiding, cause we had to give up.
I did get Philip Pullman's Four Tales, which I jumped the rest of my pile to start, and am enjoying. Also Neil Gaiman's Odd and the Frost Giants. Nice little hard cover. Have to read them soon, so I can then wrap them up for Christmas presents. Is that allowed?

Hard News: Wikileaks: The Cable Guys, in reply to
Why yes, now you ask, I am a bit over it.
Took you long enough. [Redacted. Not helpful]
Great show last night be the way. Embedded journalism is a subject worthy of much consideration. GG? Meh.
Now, about those cables...

American Violet.
The other staggering fact that this film highlighted was that 95% (can't check right now as restricted to thumbs) of US prisoners accepted a plea bargain rather than going to trial. Of course they were all guilty of something, right? -
Was this a conscious vote, or an unconscious one?
Sorry, I mean conscience.

Hard News: Spinning and soldiering, in reply to
I mean, surely it's no surprise to you that in certain (barbaric) jurisdictions they remove the right to life itself for some crimes?
All in good time. Baby steps.
If the answer to both questions is no, why the hell implement this policy in the first place?
Stop being so logical.

It's just a cynical attempt at appearing tough on crime.
Without actually doing anything to help reduce it.
Just to highlight the opposing forces on this, here's two sides of the argument in Parliament last night. (HT David Slack)
